Looking for Feedback on AuxMod

With so many people on the waiting list for an AuxMod, I've seen surprisingly few people offer their feedback on the installation and performance of the unit. I've done a search and have only found a few people's opinions. I thought I'd start this thread and ask for as much feedback as I can get. I just paid for mine a couple of days ago. I was number 1651 and I can't wait to get it. OK, let's here what everyone has to say.....

my roomate has it, i helped with the install a bit, it was easy and he is very happy with the perf over the fm modulator...

I placed my order on Monday and it shipped recently so I should have it soon. I'm just not sure how I want to wire it.

I got mine today. Installed it tonight and after about 2 minutes of using it I am satisfied. The install was fairly straightforward once I got the tools to remove the deck. I bought a ground loop isolator and plugged that right in to the AuxMod and then fed the wires down through the console.

Just installed my auxMod. It was a piece of cake. Used 2 lengths of hanger for the removal tools instead of buying the Ford tools. No problem. It works like a charm. It sounds SO much better than an FM transmitter.

One question, though. For you guys that installed a ground loop isolator, where did you buy it? I looked at Radio Shack but the only one they had had RCA connections. Couldn't for the life of me figure out how I would install it. Anyone have a part number for the one they used?

I've had mine in for two days now and absolutely love it. It's a million times better than the FM modulator. My mp3 player sounds incredible through it! I didn't use a ground loop isolator and I have no interference whatsoever.

I removed the plastic pieces on the side of th headunit and ran down to circuit city real quick and the guy in the installation area pulled my head unit for free. I floated him $5 for hooking me up.

I highly recommend the AuxMod....worth every penny.

Dlovtsur.....Have you powered your mp3 player via the cigarette lighter plug, yet? That's when the interference is meant to happen.

I got my ground loop isolator at radio shack and it came with a rca to mini stereo adapter. I have the monster FM transmitter and plugged it in to charge
my ipod and didn't get any engine noise. So far really happy with it.

No, mine is simply running on battery power. My cigarette lighter keeps blowing fuses when I try and use it for anything other than the cigarette lighter.

hmm, I've been looking at this for my buddies 3.

Just so im sure, this would allow him to use his ipod through the md/tape button on his stock headunit while retaining his steering wheel controls. correct?

Yes, he would be able to play his ipod throught the stock head unit using the md/tape input.

No, he would not be able to control the ipod with the steering wheel controls.

not the ipod, but the volume and everything is what he is worried about. it would be a b**** to navigate the ipod menus with steering wheel controls i think

All other functionality would remain unchanged.

seems perfect for what he needs then. Where can I buy the auxmod? Thats one of the few things I haven't been able to find.

My Auxmod came in less than a week. I installed it in less than 20 minutes. Sounds 100% times better than using the fm modulator on my XM SkyFi2.

Kudos for AUXMOD...it's the shiznit...
