Looking for dvd/monitor setup...

I've been in the market for a dvd/monitor setup for a while...and i thought..."damn...u guys know your protege's and know what's good!"..so here it goes...

I'm looking for a single din dvd/monitor setup...don't mind if it's an older model, but i'm lookin for something new or factory refurbished. Any comments, ideas, referrels, recommendations welcome! thanks :)

i have a panasonic dvd player, but it does not have a monitor built in, i have had NO problems from it.

i am using two pyle monitors in the headrests.

Ya...i went to a shop and they had the panasonic single din dvd/monitor on special for like $1100 installed! I think the model was something like....7000 or 9000 model. And it looked pretty good. The guy told me that the newer model just came out and the only difference was the color of the face, the new one is gonna be black. I don't care, since my interior consists onf both black and silver stuff...i'd be ok going either color... But i ain't got the money yet...i just stumbled on some headers for super cheap..so..i'm going to jump on that soon...but i will also get the multimedia when i see something within MY range...hehe..thanks for your input on panasonic quality...i've always liked panasonic stuff!

i got a silver faced one, but i think its like a 1500 or some s***, i got that and the tvs SUPER CHEAP from a forum member back at christmas time.

something like this.

here's a link, im prolly gonna go with the double din unit on this page...

That double din is freakin nice!!!

But i'd go with a single din for that price...u can get a brand name and i'd love that extra din to put my remotes, cell phone...etc...
but go for it man...thanks for this link...i'm going to be all over it!

reason im going double din is cuz i like how its gonna be flush now sticking out when the tv comes out with the single din. but then agian the double is 6.5 inches and the single is 7" so im tryign to decide what i wanna do...

we have a ALpine cva1005 that my husband has in his truck, it probably has 4 hours of playing time on it
he also has a PS2 with it if you are interested let me know :)

also since you have a protege5 you might want to check into these
i have this setup in my car and they match perfectly :)

ITs not a DVD player but that can be added under the seat or in the glove box. THe Alpine CVA-1003 is on disco sale at crutchfield for VERY short money. OTher then that the Kenwood KVT-911DVD whihc is a DVD, Screen and touch panel is obtainable for a decnet price. HOWEVER! After seeing the Alpine IVA-D900 this year I would not get ANY other unit. It the first unti I have seen that actualy looks GOOD! It brightness shames anthing Pionner, kenwood or even eclipse has to offer.
