looking for all big turbo ms6's

The only reason why Forrestang and ATL, the only two people in the 300+ whp club right now, are only running around 315 wheel is because they ran out of fuel. Had they been able to turn up the boost or timing then I am sure they would have, however they both said that they leaned out at 310 whp. I am not sure what you mean by saying "the fuel system is not good to make more than about 315 whp, no matter if its rich lean W/E". It does matter, if you are still running pig rich at 315 whp then you still have fuel to work with, which was not the case with the 300whp people.

what i meant is that no matter if you are rich at 21 psi or lean at 21 psi! not at 315whp! sorry(freak)

Just to echo what JB is saying, I would have continued to dial in power if not for the car yanking timing due to injector pulsewidth doubling.

There is definetely more within the limits of the turbo.......

the only reason i put in the fuel pump is because i plan on running an ATP turbo kit come spring time by then ill have the ETS Top Mount and Meth Injection Bigger Injectors and a EMS, plus a stage 2+ clutch.. then we will see who can get up to and above the 400whp mark..and i also think that me adding the fuel pump before modding the hell out of the motor by adding a huge turbo was just a better idea then being lean or some s*** at a certain HP mark and possibly getting fuel cut and detonation. i feel safe now that ill be getting plenty of fuel and with just the right tune without killing the internals of the motor maybe i can squeeze some good numbers out of it. by then though i dunno if u guys have put much thought into this but what about our driveshafts if we start pushing that much power were gonna need stronger ones.. if anyone pushes more then 315hp on this thread with the stock fuel system let me know but to date it looks like its not possible.

dude that fuel pump costs like 1000 bucks are u nuts.. the walbro GSS341 can handle 550whp 30 more then that one and its over 900 bucks cheaper.. do all the research u want but seriously 2 of my buddy's run walbro's and have never had a problem with them and there only like 100 bucks and im one for saving money.

oh my.....

you have no idea what you're talking about. here ya go: simple breakdown.

our cars have 2 fuel pumps, one in tank (which you replaced) and one in the engine bay, camdriven bolted into the head.

intank pump: gets fuel to motor....
motor pump: pressurizes the fuel to about 1600psi so it can be injected in the side of the block directly into the cylinders.

only direct injection cars work this way.... all diesels and all new DI gasoline cars (GM Ecotec, VW/Audi FSI/TFSI, Ford/Mazda DISI). you replaced a pump that probably needed to be replaced, but from studies of the fuel system, that's not the only drawback, or one at all. the camdriven pump is what is seizing all peoples abilities to push past the 315whp mark.... sorta.

make sense? learn about the fuel system before you start changing stuff. also, don't worry about fuel injectors, they're only at 25% duty cycle under full load of the stock motor.

ok so now that were on the same page dont tell me i didnt do any good.. the one in the gas tank needs replacing as well as the camdriven one.. and the walbro i have delivers more fuel to the camdriven one more then stock for sure.

??? i said you replaced one that probably needed to be replaced? but just dont get all giddy about you being able to acheive a ridiculous amount of power through the 1 pump change, the camdriven pump will need to be changed, hence why not only is the mazda/ford world stuck, but the vw/audi world is too?

i asked u this in the other thread too but to clear it all up if people put in the walbro like i have or a similar type fuel pump in the gas tank how much HP will they be able to make on the stock camdriven fuel pump?...im guessing its more then 315whp because the one in the gas tank is sending more fuel to the camdriven.

any chance, any of you guys have pics of what your in tank fuel pump looks like? wondering if the reg 2.3 6 uses the same one?

good discussion though

im posting a how to on the changing of the one in the tank in a few days when i have time to sit down this weekend and write it so ill give u the pics then... look at the loads of camdriven info thread...thats a better discussion about the fuel issues if ur interested.

thanks, i think i found what i needed from mazdamotorsports. the discussion doesn't involve my cars setup, so not need for extra reading, or useless questions from me to clutter it up.

sadly i just choose to drop the tank..i wasent to excited about taking my back seat of my new car out... but if someone wants to give it a try then be my guest..im not sure if it can be accessed by removing the back seats most pumps are just i went with the tank drop.

X-GT3071R MS6 owner. Going with a different setup ;) Stock hair dryer is back in the engine bay for now.

ok you guys seems pro tuner!

I just got a MAzdaspeed 6 2007. he is stock hot lol!

so tell me, what should be the first mod to do on it ?
ETS top mounted intercooler ? they said its will give me 20hp more and 20lbs of torque more,

I need to know the exact step to mod my car,.

what the first thing to change, the cold air intake, the turbo blow off valve.

I dont wanna change the turbo since its brang new,

just tell me what is the best firt mod to do, and the 2nd one, and then etc...

thanks
Alex
