Looking for a Mazda 5

Hi all, I've got the bug and I'm looking for a Mazda 5, 5MT with a moon roof and leather, (a dream I know).

Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

Thanx, Glenn |B)

It might help if you specify your location, budget, color, and year you want. I found a black 2007 GT for $20K in Vancouver with the options you mentioned. here

Duh yah sorry, very long day.

I'm located in the US, Massachusetts. As for exterior color, that part doesn't really matter, I like the blue, but it's not a deal breaker. I prefer the black leather over the sand, I've got kids and the black hides things better.

Unless you get REALLY lucky (very rare but I think some forum members reported having one) you probably won't find a MT with leather in the States. OFFICIALLY MT only comes in the Sport model - and the Sport only comes with cloth seats. Conversely GT (Grand Touring) comes only in leather but does not offer a MT. So you get one or the other... bummer.

Yah man I know it would be a stroke of dumb luck to find one, but you never know.

Could be cheaper to buy a Sport and have it re-upholstered.

You've never had anything reupholstered. :-) My Mom does furniture upholstery, and it's so time consuming, if done well, that everything is fairly expensive, even if you find someone cheap.

I am in Mass also. MT was my biggest priority. I searched using Autotrader for a few weeks before I even found one new MT MZ5 in all of New England. I grabbed it rather than wait for some mythical vehicle that may or may not exist. I am living with the cloth (warmer in the winter right?) and don't miss not having the sunroof.

As JFRCross says I guess.

Just stopped by my dealer today (wanted to see the new Blue/tan interior in person). My sales guy says he has not yet gotten any 5MT on his hands since sold mine (Dec 2007). They are even more scarce for 08 and 09 in the US, although he had 6-7 Mazda5s lined up to sell (compared to one when I bought mine)

For aftermarket leather, check this out. you can find the right kit and it can really look good:

JFR, yah I know my search might be in vane, but it can't hurt man. I've had cloth, I have kids and I lovem, but they are slobs, the leather (Like I currently have in my Jeep) is a piece of cake and no stains.

I've been searching Autotrader and stuff. I've found an 2007 Touring with the 5MT, but it's got cloth. If they GT came in a 5MT, the leather would be heated. :D

Cool, yah we've talked about this before man. A guy can dream and search I guess. I might have to cave and get the 5AT, I was working a deal with a place in NH, I had a GT (Silver) down to $20,500 and they haven't seen my trade-in yet. Though with the condition of the economy, I might have to hold off.

To get the combination you want, try Canada. They have black leather manuals GTs, but no HID. Here's a link to a thread that has a couple of members that have them, with photos. here Or you can just buy that kit mentioned earlier.

I don't know if HID is a concern for you, but I wasn't settling for anything other than a 2008 Sunlight Silver GT w/o nav which meant a special order directly from Japan. I had to wait 9 weeks and received calls from my rep every other week on it's exact location.

There was only one in the US at time with the options I wanted in North Carolina, but they told me they were going to drive it to Texas(900+ miles) and going to charge an extra fee in doing so. I asked my rep, "Why would I agree to something so stupid?" He then laughed, but I wasn't laughing.

If you can afford to pick and choose, don't settle. You'll be happy with your decision a lot more than settling, I am.

Check the dealership in Springfield. They gave me the lowest internet price. I went to a dealer much closer and ate the $100 to have someone closer if there happened to be a problem.

That's an excellent price for a GT... 2009 right?
Too bad Mazda got rid of all their previous incentives. (ie 0% financing).

Nope thats a 2008, I was working him on the price. Silver, 5AT, Black Leather.

I was working him for 1.9% as well, something to make the deal go off. I've been looking for a while, haven't said anything to my wife about it yet, I'm sure she's gonna flip when I do. :D

FWIW, I bought my Mazda3 with Cloth interior from the old 128 Mazda (now Liberty Mazda). I wanted Leather, and they didn't **** me with the price to redo the seats. Only delayed delivery of the keys into my hands by 2 days as well.

Go have a chat with Liberty, and see what it will take for Leather.

p.s. The leather I received has held up well. Couple of issues, one is hidden, the other is a strip of leather on the door that is starting to come off, only about 3 inch stretch is coming up, so nothing major, and I've put 116,000 miles on the car. I'm happy with the choice I made, though my obvious preference is factory installed.
