Looking at buying a MSP and want advice? Post here!

Huh? I'm pretty positive that my gauge never crosses 0 vacuum in 1st. I should find a youtube video to see if I'm on crack.

the only reason you wouldn't is because you're not able to load the engine up for long enough to spool the turbo. The MSP doesn't have any of the electronic boost limiting bulls*** like the MS3 has... Hell, I've boosted in reverse, which is a higher gear ratio that 1st, if memory serves. FYI: I'm not saying this was a smart thing to do....

i imagine you launching the MSP down your driveway in reverse with your eyes on the boost gauge. funny s***.

I went to look at a K5 blazer I was gonna buy on a farm, driveway was about 3/4 of a mile long, and there wasn't a turnaround for about a quarter mile... I wasn't in any mood to drive 5mph for that long, so I hammered on it. One of the guys was into DSMs, so I had to show him whats up too. lol

the real funny part is that launching my new car in reverse would be like launching the MSP in 1st! lol

Found a potential MSP I'd like to buy and wanted to get everyone's opinions on it and advice on things to check if I go check it out. It's a 2003 Spicy with 26,886 miles on it. It's a one owner, always under a car cover at home, only used synthetic oils, not modified in any way, and no door dings. I've attached a link to the ad. Private seller as well if it matters.

sounds awesome if everything in the ad is accurate! it's got all the elements you want in a used car. one owner, maintained, low miles, no mods. are there any pictures?

Great shape and probably one of very few left unmolested... but I think he's on crack with is price. He's treating it like a collector car, so if you're not going to do the same, then it isn't worth that.

Wow that's good mileage. Definitely worth checking out. Clean carfax means nothing to me, so I would check closely for paintwork and also see what kind of mods were done. The missing fog lights makes me think it was in a fender bender, but who knows.

That is SpicyorangeMSP's car. It is listed in the FS section. One of the few stock super low mileage spicys left. It says 1 of 750 in the ad but its actually 1 of 600 american models.

I'm guessing 7k ish, maybe 8k if in really good condition and low miles with out pics. No mention of a tuning device and with all the engine work and stock exhaust sounds kinda iffy but receipts can go along way.

car is clean, 100k on chasis and he says around 5k on the rebuild. Apparently stock ECU no ssafc or anything. And stock exhaust and such used to pass inspection. Seems like a good daily/ bulletproof daily but not much in anything else.
