I'm not complaining about being a me too modder, I just want to do something crazy. on my 350z I had a super duper nice intake plenum replacement that no one else had. everyone always crowded around when I popped the hood. it was fun. I want to have something similar on this car.

Is it true that particular intake gives a lot of hp on the 350z's?
I ask because I remember when it first came out, and I think it was SCC or SS that said you could get like 40+ hp. I know it sounds crazy, but that was a while back.

hell no you don't get that kind of power. it's mostly just a nice looking part. it does help a bit up high in the revs. maybe if you had a twin turbo setup and you went from the stock plenum to the kinetix you would see 40hp, but I still doubt it.

So the real gain is if you get FI w/this plenum over FI w/the stock one. Right?

of course, just like any air/exhaust flow mod. the real gains come when you're forcing more air/exhaust through the pipes.

Well I found the info, it was on Import Tuner. The title of the article says " Gain over 60 hp for your VQ35" But the gains are with FI. Stock VQ35 gets 16hp with just the plenum.

actually, if taken to the track and seeing your time, you can see your performance. every .0 of a second faster than before is a good feeling. especially if its a whole second faster.

Ya know I was actually thinking about getting the head off mrlilguy and doing this but then..I saw my bank acct and turned the other way. I also agree on the women thing... I dont know about the being expensive one, because Ive never really bought anything for them or had a gf for the holidays, or vday, or her bday lol. But I will agree about the ripping of the heart, but with me.. she pretty much threw it at the wall like 15 times, jumped on it, and made sure the thing wasnt beating anymore before she left.

also, I was talking about "feeling" horsepower. obviously, every little bit shows up at the track.

the best thing I did on that car was put on a lightened flywheel and upgrade the clutch. dropped my 60' by 2 tenths.

Lucky you guys. I look at my credit cards and bank account and they just give me the finger! Better to be a "me too modder" than a "wish I could be a me too modder". Buying a full tank of gas is the only mod I can afford. That and calling the a/c button the turbo/anti-turbo button. Oh to be done with school forever!
