i updated my galaxy s5 today with lollipop and my 2014 cx5 was able to download emails to the headunit. I was surprised as i never seen this feature before on my cx5.it displays as email and there is a speaker icon for reading it out if you are driving.

Ps: the infotainment system is still the worst with all the known bugs discussed in this forum from time immemorial.

I would be curious to see if the same thing happened for the Galaxy S4 when it eventually gets Lollipop, but who knows when ATT will decide to give it to us...

I know that on the Mazda website it says that the Galaxy S4 isn't compatible with email at all, do you know what it says for the S5?

Edit: Curiously enough the Mazda website says that email isn't compatible with the S5 so it would be really interesting if a software updates makes it start working.

I have email and text with a HTC on 4.4.3, so really you shouldn't need lp.

I've used my HTC One M8 on versions v4.4.2, v4.4.3, v4.4.4 and now on v5.0.1, and all android versions worked the same. SMSText/EMail to speech will work for up to a couple weeks, then stops working until you totally unpair the phone from the infotainment center, turn both the car and the phone off for 30 seconds, power both back on, then re-pair, then it will work for up to another couple weeks before it stops working agian.

Have you tried setting up the phone to only store the last 5 emails, it may help?
I haven't had any problems with the 510 desire, we both have one.
