lip spoiler on 5 door?

Does anyone on here know or have the 6 with the lip spolier and rear wiper off..the dealer up in Wayne told me they cant replace the (Rice) spoiler with the lip spoiler..thank you

well jay I wouldnt go as far as calling the spoiler rice its not exactly a park bench or cheese slicer

it's a little tall, but it ain't rice.. the hatchback would look kinda weird without it, or if it had a lip spoiler.. it would kinda look like a bloated pregnant sedan.

I don't think there is a lip spoiler w/o (chmsl) led 3rd brake light so there would be one on top of another cause the hatch comes with one integrated into the lid just above the mazda emblem. I was never one for the lip spoiler but if you want it then thats your choice.

If you really want it then get it and sell the oem one on ebay... anyone know if the lip bolts up to the same hole as the wing?Just cover up the chmsl on the trunklid or spoiler so it won't look so wierd. anyone have a 6 with a lip spoiler? havn't seen one on dealership lot or the road...

If going from wing spoiler to lip, holes from the wing spoiler would need to be filled.

But to answer the original question, Jays6's dealership is right when they say it cannot be done. There is no lip for the hatch (because they all come with the wing spoiler in US-spec), and the sedan's decklid profile around the lip spoiler area is actually quite a different shape than the hatch. Plus, the brake lights from the sedan's lip spoiler would look really bad on the hatch because they would never turn on.

If you really want a lip on the hatch, you'll need to go aftermarket (and even then, you'll likely need to fill in the holes from the original wing spoiler).
