Knocking motor...repair or replace?

i got a 2000 protege "MazdaSPEED" clone car. its got around 102k on it and it just started on its death bang (toilet) ...its cyl #4 to be exact.. should i go ahead and try to fix it? or replace the motor? i can get a newer motor with about 20k on it with trans and everything attached for 200 (trans bad). its out of a Protege5. in my situation what would you opinion be? (oh BTW i work at a u pull yard so parts are like free

change the engine, 200 is cheap.

If you are swapping to the 2.0 and your car has a 1.8 there is more involved in the swap like changing ECUs but it's entirely possible.
