kinda new here

i call drivers race.

I'd agree with that. But if we have to make a turn, she's mine. (evil)

Yep. Lotus Elise. 1984lbs. But there are Mazda3s out there pushing 300hp and up. ;)

"Hoodlum" is the guy who showed up on the last drive with the Exige. clicky

well the only argument i have with a Lotus is that i really think they are over priced and underpowered. 190 hp (elise) to maybe what 220(exigeS) hp is not what i would expect for a $45k+ car.

Fun to drive. maybe. Underpowered. Definitely. For that kind of money you can get any number of things with more power and betterish handling than most other cars. 350Z, 97-04 Z06, EVO, STI, maybe even a decent Supra. For me the whole Lotus thing is lost that and i hate British people.

If you ever drive one, you won't think they're underpowered. You can't just look at HP and price. You have to look at power-to-weight. The car weighs 500lbs less than a base, soft-top Miata, for crying out loud (and has more HP, a higher redline and is WAY sweeter). On a track, it'll kick the s*** out of any street car except for like a Pagani Zonda (which costs $350,000+). And who needs a car that will go 200+mph? You'll never be able to do it, not even on a track. The 350Z, Supra, EVO, STi and anything made in America aren't even in the same class. I'd much rather have a car that will take a 90turn at 70mph without flinching than one that goes like hell in a straight line and not much else.

But that's me.

And if you look at any other car in it's class, the Lotus is an absolute bargain.

Edit: Ok, so there are quite a few cars with faster track times according to Top Gear and the Stig. But the Lotus is the only one under $70,000, with most of them over $100,000.
