Kenwood security code

hey guys i was wondering if anyone has experience with this,

i have just recently aquired a kenwood KDC-X711 from a friend that gave it to me because when he brought his car to the shop, the mechanics disconnnected the battery and thus enabled the security code function on the HU to engage. well since he bought the car used, he did not know the security code and he aquiesed and just went out to sound advice and bought another kenwood (damn i wish i had the money, i know its and older model but yea). i was just wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to get around this security crap cause if i do i get a free head unit (and i didn't have to steal it) right now the unit is in pieces as i took out my friends CD that was stuck in there and now im just looking at the mobo of the unit and wondering which IC has the code stored on it and how to erase that memory. i wish i knew more about programming and electronics but that's about all i know. i know this is stretching it but if given a schematic with the functions of the board i could probably test out my soldering skillz but i'd rather not as i know the HU is still functional

any help:confused:

thanks guys

Kenwood Security Code

I noticed that you know how to get through the kenwood kvt-910dvd code. I just uninstalled it out of my old truck and went to put it in my new truck and now i'm locked out.. Could you please email me of what I need to do?

Thanks TJ

i wouldnt... a new screen name? thats interesting... trav4j, why don't you call kenwood if you legitimally own the deck?

man i loved those instructions like 2 years ago

i got that deck from a friend who told me that if i could unlock it that i could keep it
(he bought the car used and they disconnected the battery to service it so he just bought a new deck which i then installed for him)

I strongly urge anyone who has access to this fix to NOT redirect members with a single post any such instructions. NO offence to noobs, but we don't need to be aiding and abedding criminal behavior either.
