anyone have any comments on this? i was looking at the Alpine IVA-D900 but it's more expensive and doesn't have the touchscreen feature that the kenwood has. im not an expert when it comes to car electronics. could someone educate me a bit? thanks

basically it is an all in one unit, dvd player, cd player, tv tuner, and upgrade to a navi, the alpine 900 came out last year and the 715 came out this year and also the 915 is coming out, the difference is that the 915 is excelon...check out the new pioneer unit i think its called the av1-nc, the model is something like that...its a all in one with navi in a single din unit

This unit is brand new and really untested. Kenwood's motorization has been flawed previously, so this is one of those you might be better off paying more for an older product. Thing is, though, you need to pick what you want based on features. The Alpine is older, but it's screen is one of the best and it's get excellent SQ, etc. I'm not saying to get the Alpine or the Kenwood...it's really gonna be up to you and what you want it to do. Try to go check them out in local stores first, as well. The Alpine, even though it's more expensive, is on deep discount because of the new model coming out...so you might find an even better price locally. Good luck, and happy shopping!

The Kenwood KVT-915 was supposed to come out last year. They had to delay that as it had terrible reliability. Most of the ones at CES last year broke. Hopefully they got the kinks worked out, but I honestly doubt it.

if you plan on purchasing through crutchfield i will make a suggestion, call them. i called them sunday about a product, they were out of that one so i inquired about the Panasonic 900DVD, which was priced for $1299 and i ended up gettin the product with all harnesses, mounting peices and free shipping for $989.99. Also if you plan on buying through a diff. online company REVIEW THEIR RETURN POLICY FIRST!!! so if you have to make a return they are cool and dont charge you at restocking fee...

Beside the all in one feature and price, what is the BIG difference between the 715, 815 and 915?
