Kenwood goes kaput

Well the Stereo in my car has died and gone to hell. I was just cruising arond one night and it started fliping like some little gymnast. The cd, " My favorite Cd has now been consumed by the Excelon. Linkin Park Reanimated for those wondering. Anywho, The dealer will be replacing it as soon as they get one but it has been a week. This sucks, and when the radio fritzed it set on some crapy 80's music station and could'nt use any of the controls. Kenwood is about on my s*** list. Any body else had this problem?

yeah, the headunit sucks, i had to reset mine, i set my audio stuff again but didnt bother with the radio stations...

wait... other than it doing wierd stuff (which mine hasn't), what makes the head unit suck. it has everything i need. an eq, x-overs, ok bass control, blah blah. i'm confused

I'm enjoying the HU other than the lock ups... Dealership has a new HU finally waiting for me, but they're waiting on the silver surrounding plastic, as last time they scratched it to hell... I'll see if the new one does it or not.

I had to reset mine once, haven't had a problem since but I'm sure it'll crap out sooner or later. I don't even use the radio, just pop in an MP3 CD and go!

This is a universal truth.
The more CRAP you ack into a certian space the more likely the things in that space are to break.
If a company chooses to put R and D into flashing lights then they had to take that time and money away from useful features and reliabilty.

I would not take a kenwood as a gift at this point.

what makes it suck? sure, it plays my CDs and gotz a decent radio when my dad drives around and has EQ settings, but i dont particularly enjoy having to set them every once in awhile because the radio just randomly decides to die! i got the car for the car, not the system, so im not too pissed, but if i bought this thing as a stand alone HU, id be mad pissed...the future may have this HU being kept on a shelf in my room while another is in my car, i just dont want another kenwood!

The KDC-X569,769, and 869 have all been solid units thus far for us. The KDC-X469 is crap.

Haven't had a problem with my deck in my MP3. It's funny how if one thing breaks, the company all of the sudden sucks. Every company is bound to have a defective product from time to time. Unfortunately, you might have gotten one of the flawed products. Sorry to here man, but Kenwood definately doesn't suck.

Which one do we have 1st MP3 in NH, I am considering selling this one for a better one. I like it to but the reliability sucks bad on it. It looks good sounds good but damn it, it ate my favorite CD. Oh I just heard from the service dept. they want me to come up there so they can look at it again. They have gone all week and not called me yet, thanks GUYS. well my Joe kit is coming in soon and I will be tackling that asap. I can't wait to see what it does for me. By the way the reset button doesn't even work anymore, most of them don't, plus the face sits at an angle and no its not supposed to be like that, plus it doesn't close flush anymore. they had done the reset thing on mine to, that was 2 mnths ago.

Well, just to be an ass. The headunit is not an excelon. It has to have an 'X' in the model number. It's just the highest regular series headunit Kenwood offers, and I havent had a problem with it yet.
