Well in the 21k miles ive had my car. the kenwood finally fuckedup. i went to flip the screen out and it doesn't move. i hear the motors in there trying to move it but nothing. any suggestions?

its a problem with a board inside the headunit itself, i just got mine back from getting it fixed, cost $130.00...no warranty cause i (modified) my sound system with an additional 1200 watts.

i am on my 17th week of waiting for mazda to replace mine. radios were backoredered and so are the refurbished ones....so i was told.

This may be a dumb question, but did you try holding down the "Eject/Ang" button for 3 seconds or more? If so, disregard the above. If not then do it and see what happens. The deck does screw up sometimes, but it actually has a preprogrammed function to stay at the half-flipped angle when the ANG button is held down. Don't know why anyone would want their deck looking like that but then again, what do I know.

Hit the reset button or pull the batteries neagtive terminal for a few minutes. The gaol is to reset the unit. Sometimes it works.

Well it is possible to cook the head unit by installing an amp or speakers but not so that it doesn't flip out.

good luck, my dealer thinks that aftermarket spark plug wires frys the coils.... oh did NOLOGY have a laugh at that one. All in all it was a wire that came loose.. hehehe, what idiots at the dealer telling me I had two fried coils. Yep, the dealer diagnosed my car by it's so called professionals and said that I had a bad wire and two fried coils... it ended up being a wire that came loose... another dealer found it and fixed it no problem, oh yeah, covered under warranty.

Ok, back on topic. My dealer, same retarded one, told me they couldn't re-create the deck sticking out in the open position. How funny is that, because the week before I made the appointment I stopped by the dealer and told them to come look at the deck stuck open so they knew I wasn't blowing smoke. Well the service writer told me that they trust me he didn't need to see it so I just set the appointment at that time. Anyway, appointment time came and went and they couldn't re-create the problem, what assholes. Again, i wish you the best of luck on this one.

bro disconnect the battery and put it back on...the first time that happened to me mazda replaced it...the second time i disconnected the neg terminal of the battery and the damn thing magically went back in...never had a problem since?!?

Man, my head unit just did the same thing tonight going to get some smoke's from the store. It stayed closed when, I started the car back up and I thought that it was just acting up like always but, when i got home I tryed to reset the damn thing (6 times!!!) and all that it would do is light up and then die again I replaced the fuse just for the hell of it and still nothing!!!

So,I guess I'll just replace the damn thing with my next pay check and call it a day. There is no way in hell i'm waiting for Mazda/Kenwood to fix it.
