I was given a Kenwood DNX8120 Headunit for my birthday. I am considering returning it and getting a lower-end model (DNX5120 or DNX7120) and using the extra to pay some bills.

The DNX8120 is just over $1500.

However, if the 8120 has cool features that the other two models don't, I will keep it.

I was just wondering if an audio guru could do me a favor and show me what each model has over the others and if you think its worth the extra and which unit you would get.

Thanks!

I am currently rocking a DNX8120 and I LOVE it.

Here are the differences off the top of my head:

Kenwood DNX5120
- 6.1" screen
- Built in Nav
- 2 Sets of preouts (2V)
Kenwood DNX7120
- 7" Screen
- 1 USB Port
- 2 Sets of Relay outputs for controlling almost anything with a relay (lighting, etc.)
- 3 Sets of Preouts (2V)
Kenwood DNX8120
- 7" Screen
- Built-in Bluetooth
- 3 Sets of Preouts + 1 for Center channel (5V)
- 2 USB Inputs (ipod + 1 other usb)
- 2 Relay Outputs

Oh and where can I get a plastic surround for a DDX7019 ??? Im missing it... for a 02 P5

I'm not sure yet.

Do you know how to put backgrounds on the DDX7019???

There are backgrounds for when your in the settings and stuff, but when you go to the screen that just shows a Leaf in a white background. How do I change both of them?

The DNX7019 is hella old by comparison! the 7019 has No built in Nav($500 option), no Bluetooth ($150optional), no relay outputs(which you can use to operate your garage door or home security system or lighting), 1 USB vs 2 on the 8120.

The 8120 is by far the much superior unit to go with.

The 8120 has the trim ring and the Double Din cage to mount in the P5 with no problems.
