thanks 1st MP3 in NH
If you go to this two links and compare the specs for the 9813 and the 7894 you will see these diferences:
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/...&s=0&g=300&id=features_and_specs&i=500CDA9813
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/...=0&g=62700&id=features_and_specs&i=500CDA7894
7894 Subwoofer Preamp Outputs (yes)
9813 Subwoofer Preamp Outputs (no)
7894 EQ Bands (no)
9813 EQ Bands (yes) 5
Sound Shaping Type: 7894 (Bass Engine Plus), 9813 (Bass Engine Pro)
7894 Seek/Scan (yes)
9813 Seek/Scan (no)
7894 CD Text (yes)
9813 CD Text (no)
So 7894 has subwoofer outputs and the 9813 don't, is this a down side if I want to have a subwoofer on the future?
The 7894 doesn't have EQ bands? this means one has equalizer sliders and the others don't? do I suppose to play with the equalilizer sliders in every song to the get the best sound for each song?
Is there a big diference bettween Bassengine Plus and Bass engine Pro?
9813 doesn't have a seek/scan for radio stantions?
If I'm playing my MP3 CD's 9813 can't read the name of the mp3 files?
1st MP3 in NH I don't expext you to know all the answers but I got not one to ask and I don't want to buy one headunit over the other and then regret it, you know the feeling
Each unit has a subwoofer output, infact each have 3 4 volt preout, not just 1 4 volt proout for the sub like other brands.
The 9813 lists the sub out put.
Bass engine Pros very definition by alpine contains a sub out so its a give.
Bass engine Plus (7894)
- 4 channel time correction
- Bass center frequency control
- bass width control
- Treble frequency control
- 3 position 12 db/octive crossover
- subwoofer level control
- subwoofer phase selector
- MediaXpander
Bass Engine Pro ( 9813)
- 6 Channel time correction, one per pre-out
- 5 band parametric EQ
- Sub level control
- sub phase control
- 6 position digital crossover with adjustable slop
- Mediaxpander
- Everything Bassengine plus has
Both have ID3 tag recognition so they will display MP3 text on the disc. The 9813 also plays WMA, not just MP3.
Both have seek/scan, all headunits do.
There won't be one feature the 7894 has that the 9813 won't!
The only posible exception is the amber buttons option but I bet it will have it too.
