Well, this is my first post as a new member. Thank's to all who have made valuable contributions. My hat goes off to the "pioneers" who are the first to try new mods and share their experiences with others. I have owned my Speed6 for a couple of years now and I have been following this forum for several months to see what the possibilities are for this car.
When I first got the car the first thing I did was get a set of the Mazdaspeed wheels to use for summer and put some winter tires on the stock wheels. These Mazdaspeed wheels are light and I probably saved about 8 lbs per corner. The next thing I did was install a carbon fiber grill as I never did like the factory setup (what's with that huge symbol Mazda?).
I just recently installed a CPE downpipe, CPE 3" dual catback, CPE CAI and a HKS BOV. My car is now a little louder that I would like, but I like the power gains up top. Well, it did not take long for the car to start smoking from what I believe are faulty turbo seals based on what I have read here. So, I ordered a GT2871 turbo and a XEDE engine management system while I was at it. Still waiting for the XEDE to arrive then I will need to find a tuner with a 4 wheel drive dyno, which could prove difficult where I live. Anyway, I'm not trying to get too agressive with the car and I am hoping to get about 300 - 320 WHP when I'm done. What do you think, will it be possible with this setup?
