Just replaced the EGR now what ?????

Have a 01 Protege ES was having idle problems and power would drop at 100 m/h. When travelling at 100km/h car will rev up to 5,000 RPM but the speed of the car would drop below 80 km. Check engine just flashes no stop. I have replaced the EGR valve but problem is still there ???? Anyone else have the sorta thing happen ??????

Do you have a mp3? Did you hook everything back up correctly after installing the new egr? Did you clean/check the idle solenoid? Check/Replace spark plugs? Clean the motor with seafoam? What kind of intake do you have?

get a obd-ii scanner and see what code it throws..

He's right. If the CEL flashes repeatedly, it means you're running extremely rich and damaging the catalytic converter. If you drive too long like this, it will send so much raw fuel into the cat that it will begin to melt the substrate inside.
