Just picked up our 5 today!

Who knew you could buy a car on Sunday?

Anyways, I had been beating myself up trying to find a reasonably priced replacement for the 98 Dodge Caravan my wife and I have been driving for the last two years. There really is nothing out there quite like the 5. So I did a quick inventory search and we headed down to the only dealership in town that had any 5's in stock let alone any that were 5 speed.

Anyways long story short, I'm really happy a friend pointed me in the Mazda direction because as you can imagine given my username, Mazda wasn't even on the radar. Our dealer had just recieved the car on the third and my wife and I are the first and only people to drive our car!

Don't forget to do rust proofing. As i recall in ohio they use alot of salt for the roads when it snows, also don't forget to do some mods because the mazda5 looks even better with some. Enjoy(cheers)

Yep, they use a crapload of salt here. It's rediculous.

There's a few things I'd like to do to it, but that's all dependant on what my wife will actually let me do. lol One thing being the tail lights. I HATE Altezza style tail lights with a passion. I'm going to see if I can find out how much the GT tails are, or possibly look into modding the ones I have. I'd also like to "smoke" the headlights too... I also think it needs tint from the front doors rearward.

Other than that I need to order up an Auxmod.

what are "GT" tails?? I have a 2006 GT and my taillights look like the ones in the photo!

don't forget to get your windows Tinted. It looks alot better once you do

no, GT in America and GT in Canada are different beasts. Our Touring = your GT. The American GT has leather and black bezelled headlights and taillights. I know everyone has their own tastes, but personally, the altezza's on the 5 grew on me... they have a really nice glow at night and the yellow turns are BRIGHT.

On a slightly different subject, I just got reassured how tight my 5 is... I just drove a Chevy Trailblazer. Bleck, that thing is a mushy bouncy land barge. My 5 feels like a firm zippy go kart in comparison

That's right, no GT in USA but in Canada yes. The tail lights are fine for my taste, one has their own taste, so be it. (cheers)

I'm a fan of the tail lights as well...

personally, I like the look of contrasting colors... my home's full of black, white silver contrasting colors...

I especially like the way it looks at night on my black Mazda 5...

Well it doesn't matter anyways. My wife informed me last night that I would not be touching her car and that she likes the taill lights just fine. lol Oh well.

I hope I can at least win the window tint battle!
