I bought my car today, and i put a pioneer headunit it cause i had to replace the pioneer one already in there, i wanted to ask how come when i i play my music i open the trunk and i hear nothing coming from the sub in the car, everything is hooked up but i dunno why??? anyone have any probems if u did u ahve any i dea why or hwo i can fix it???

Coincidence

I just posted about this topic as well. Mine has been like since I got it. I thought that the system was just weak at first because my old car had a really booming system in it. So I didn't think much of it. I just checked my woofer and nothing is booming at all. Bringing it to the dealership in a few days (Tuesday) to have them look at it when I get my oil changed.

First check if the orange/red light on the amp is on, if it is there could be more wrong, but if not try these things. First check to see if the amp is getting power. A voltmeter on the power hook-ups on the amp can tell you if you are getting anything. Check the fuse on the power wire. This is about 8-10 inches off of the positive battery terminal on a seperate wire. If that isn't the case turn the radio on and see if the remote turn on is giving a signal to the amp. This is a usually a blue wire labled "remote". Use the volt meter again to see if you are getting about 12V on the amp.

If it isn't any of these things take it to a good car audio shop and they can maybe do some troubleshooting for you. Not Best Buy or Circuit bad, they have no idea what is going on...

Good Luck!

yes i would almost guarantee the stock sub is blown

search around... there are some replacements that are much better than the stock one

Sure it could be blown, but most blown subs will still put out some sound even if blown. Check the amp to see if it turns on before you deem the sub is blown.

the most common prob would be the fuse under the hood. there is a inline fuse that blows all the time, i dont recall which size fuse it is suppost to be in there, but it should say in the manual. i run 2 12's off that amp and i have no probs. if it keeps occuring then take it to a sterio shop and have them diagnose it. good luck!!(usa)

Not for nothing, but make sure you have activated the SW feature on your Pioneer. Depending on the model you have, you'll have multiple options to choose from. But you can turn it off. Press your audio button and scroll through to make sure its on.

i ran two tens off the stock amp for awhile and i kept blowing the fuse. i now have 1 ten on the stock amp and it sounds pretty damn good.

Yeah, I'm beating the hell out of my stock Kenwood amp as well, and it's been exceeding my expectations. I'm running a JL 12W6 DVC with the voice coils in parallel, so the bridged amp is seeing 1.5 ohm. I blow a fuse about every 6 mos., so it could be worse. I'm trying to kill the damn thing to give me motivation to install my Autotek 99, but it won't friggen die.

yeahhh but i dont udnerstand why its nto working i have everything hooked up i have a pioneer headunit and it is powered on for a sub and the amp light is on and the fuse is fine (dont kno what fuse to look at if under the hood) and all cables are conencted im just getting nothing out of the sub at all

The fuse is under the hood, follow the wires off the positive terminal on your battery and you'll quickly run in to the subwoofer power wire fuse.

mspaint ftw

i just went outside and look and the positive cable or + is running from the battery right to the fuse box connected to a fuse that is 100A and i dunno that is and the negative runs to god knows where

yeahhh its fine nothing wrong with it anything else i should check i just dont get it if it was blown then it would have something coming out of it
