Just Bought Forge BOV

Well I just Installed the BOV. The sound isnt like i expected its exactly like the stock sound only a lil louder. I have one question though they gave me another spring is this spring stiffer or softer etc.. or is it just an extra?

i bought one too, they didnt send me a plug for the bov either, just call them and tell them to ship you one, and you need to put the green spring in cause it is softer

Mine is pretty quiet at stock boost too. If you've tried 8 or 9psi it starts to sound cooler. Something different than the greddy's and hks's. Wooosh

I've seen the two different ones on your website. What's the difference between the MSP01 and MSP02?? One of them just looks like a regualer oem piece.

The one that looks like the OEM piece is the bypass valve. It's basically just a stronger/less plastic unit. The other one is a blow-off valve.

With that said, I helped do the testing for their BOV. I can verity that it isn't very loud at stock boost, but a volume difference is noticeable at 10-12psi. We had it on a friend's turbo Ford Ranger at 18psi and it was defenitely louder.

I kinda like that it's one of the quieter and more subtle sounding BOV's on the market. Sometimes I think my RFL is too loud for it's own good, but it came with the hard pipes, so whatever.

from what i've read, the Forge BPV is just a replacement to the stock BPV. but it will hold boost better and will not leak under high boost conditions. i have heard that it sounds exactly the same.

So, save the extra money and get the BVP...I guess? Well I'll stop wasting time and look at it myself...by reading whatever the site says...

Cool thank you. I wonder what it would sound like? Hmm...well I can get a deal on the BVP and get the Forge BOV used for a reasonable price...interesting, Hope i'll have the money next week for it and other mods. Thanks again ChopstickHero and Scott

The stock piping only has one flange coming off of it. Some aftermarket hard pipe kits (like mine), has two flanges. One for the stock (or an aftermarket) BPV, and an aftermarket BOV.

Well, neither is going to really affect performance much. The BOV is slightly louder than the BPV, and both are sturdier than the stock BPV. So, if you want to get one, it basically comes down to whether or not you like the sound of the stock BPV or want something with a smidgen more volume.

These things are good complimentary mods if you have other things (such as a boost controller), but on their own on a stock car, you won't notice any difference.

As for Forge Motorsport as a shop, they are a great group of people. Very helpful. When we were doing the initial testing and install of the BOV on my car, we ran into a problem. They went out of their way to solve the problem, which wasn't even their fault at all (crappy mazda plastic piping is to blame).

I have a Forge BOV now, I'd Like to know what spring everyone has installed in their BOV.
The forge site has different ratings for each colored spring And it seems like the green one looks like the best one to go with.
