Just Bought 03.5 MSP

Ok guys i Just got my MSP delivered to me today. 59,197 miles on it, paid 7950 for it.

anyway obviously its used therefore has issues, i cant really tell of anything engine related except the car dying randomly on turns but its missing the battery tie down bolt so its either electrical or fuel related im guessing.

and can you guys give me some god suggestions on what to look for that should be cared for im going through it right now and im missing the faceplate for the stereo and there is some ghetto wiring in the back, and a switch that im going to take out anyone happen to have a fact plate for sale that WORKS

sounds like it needs a MAF relocation. or possibly bpv issues

thanks guys like i said it needs some little s*** im sure im not expecting it to be perfect i have pics but not sure how to put them up im new to this site so sorry for the newbness, i owned a 93 mx6 2.0 FSDE for 4 years so im familiar with this engine. any help would be appreciated guys im looking forward to talking with all of you.

as far as mods go im not really looking to mod it much i am perfectly happy with it the way it is i honestly didnt think it would pull as good as it does.

so right now i only have the 2004 MAzda6 S 5 door, and the Mazdaspeed Protege. Thanks

wow man wat a coincidence i bought a 2003.5 MSP june 22nd, it was used it had 59,754 miles on it and i paid $7500, but yea so far i have nto had any problems with the car . the guy who owned it before me took good care of it. but yea man good luck with it

thanks man ya like i said i got a faceplate and my amp is on the way so i spent 80 bucks for those things, so not a bad deal, i love it hopefully i can get a P5 for the wife but she wont let me take her 04 mazda6 away from her lol

that blue connector is for the fogs which u dont have if its a stock 03.5 (the 03 MSP had them), theres supposed to be a blank panel there to hold the connector. and no they dont have cruise.

as far as things to check. Vac lines go bad on this car easy, and the stock plastic pipes tend to either not seal well, or break at the bypass valve connections. the best thing you could do is get a boost gauge so you can tell if you have any leaks, and if your wastegate is functioning properly (you should have 5.5-6.5psi stock). Then go from there with general tuneup and maint if needed.

make sure your motor mounts are in good shape, if they are, throw in some inserts. you wont be dissapointed. the stock ones are very weak.

I'm another newbee....bought my MSP last month, 64k for $7200 with a turbo timer, boost and a/f gauge.

than for all the replies guys, im currently going to be upgrading, first im starting with a wideband, then an AFC, injectors, better turbo, intake exhaust the usual.

is there anything i should be aware of when doing any of these?

ummm if you're going to upgrade the turbo, you might wanna think about doing forged internals. Otherwise you may find yourself a member of the zoom zoom boom club very quickly
