Jumped on the side molding removal bandwagon

What did you do with the side moldings after removing them? Not sure if I should keep them or toss them out. I don't see a need for reinstalling later...

i just threw them in my garage for now. i highly doubt i will ever need them but i'm going to hold onto them for a little bit at least. i also took measurements to replace them if necessary. i was just playing it really safe, probably unnecessary.

looks good , I am gonna try hopefullt tommorrow doing that . definitely makes the car look better, I will use a hair dryer .

nice house :-)

Lenny. No need. Get gogone. Spray the length of the side molding. start at one end and just pull. Takes about 5-10 seconds per molding. I have done 4 so far. 2 MS3's, 1 MZ3, and 1 MZ6 !!!

haha, actually thats my neighbors house. you may not want to do the adhesive remover because i heard that makes it detach from the strip and stick to the car instead. either way you could just rub it off, so it doesnt matter too much.

nope, detached perfectly from the car. no sticky residue from the tape at all.

then i just got a cloth and wiped. all done!

oh alright. i wasn't sure, i just read a forum post previously where a guy put on some kind of adhesive remover and some was left behind. either way works

nice...i think i'm going to try this. It hasn't been too hot around here lately, and I've been putting off taking my mouldings off for a while now.

just took mine off!!! little goo gone and it came right off. hardest part is just getting it started at the end.

no door strips =door dings =repaint =mad
the improved looks isn't worth it IMO

i'm going to have to disagree because i think it provides minimal protection. with everyone having a bigass suv these days, the side molding probably wont even come in contact with the other door. a slight risk maybe, but that will just cause me to be more careful of where i park.
