Juje Racing Shift boot set for Proteges

So you don't remove the other one, you just put this one over it. correct?

howd u get confused, the rectangular piece that is around where the ebrake goes into the centor console, yank on that and it pops out, it is a piece of plastic.

then slide the boot on, still following here, you can tell where the ebrake handle ends and the rubber stock "boot" begins, that is where the top of the new boot stops, then let the rest hang DOWN into the rectangular hole. when u put the plastic rectangle piece back in that you popped out it will make the boot fit snug.

YOUR DONE

hehe
=P

Right, don't remove the other boot, just slide the boot over it. I think this will all be very clear to you all when you are actually installing it.

Yeah probably, but i want to replace my handle too, i think with a nice boot, why should i have to have the ugly stock knob?

well then wait till u get ur new handle and u will have to cut off the stock plastc/rubber boot and put the new handle on, hopefully clipping it in the handle or something to assure attatchment.

basically
pull out rectangle peice
cut off stock boot/handle
out on new boot
put on new handle
connect handle and boot
put rectangle piece back on
done.

ahhh!! i still haven't received my _first_ set of boots yet.. and then i still have to wait on the second set to arrive (the black w/silver stitching instead of black w/white stitching)..

it feels like it's taking forever!!

matttrix, it installs just like a stock shift boot. it has the same slits and everything.

remove the console around your shifter by pulling up on it from within the cupholders. unscrew your shift knob and take it off. take the stock shift boot off by unlatching the bottom slits (there are 2 on each side, a total of 8). once the stock shift boot is off, take the center ring off of it and adhere it to your new juje shift boot. slip the juje boot in place and latch it in place just like the stock shifter was. put your shift knob back on and plastic console snaps back into place.

total time: 2 mins, 2 seconds :)

don't buy from jujeracing... I attempted to order a boot for my 88 Jetta back in Nov... sent my check along with an old ripped up oem boot for them to copy and never got anything back. We traded a few emails, he said it was on its way, I never got it and I also never got any replies as to where it was, if it could be tracked or replaced. So needless to say STAY AWAY!
