Just wanted to let everyone know that Juje racing now has a shift boot set for sale (shift boot and e-brake boot). They are high quality and look sweet, and also fit to OEM specs. They have pictures of the set in my car on their website (my boot was the template). Hope this helps anyone out who is in the market!

fkmp5,
I asked them the same question and this is exactly as they described it to me.
"Our shift boots and e-brake boots are made from man-made leather. It has the physical characteristics of both leather and vinyl. The material carries the durability and has a grain/texture to it like leather, whereas vinyl does not. The material is produced like man-made leather but they use 38% vinyl micro-fibers so the color of the material is richer and not so dull like leather can be. We used to offer leather material boots until they began to produce this material. We decided to switch because we were experiencing a lot of problems with the leather losing color (fading) and beginning to look old (cracking). We have had the new material in some of our cars for over a year and a half and it looks just like it did the day it was installed. Of course you do need to put a leather conditioner on it to maintain the look and to uphold the durability as you would want to with any other product"
hope this helps!

We have been receiving numerous emails with similiar questions, so we thought it would easiest to post the information in case anyone had the same questions.

Questions regarding Short Shifter Applications

We offer a boot that is to stock spec's and a boot that is for short shifters up to 1.5" shorter than stock. When making the purchase, just put that you are in need of a shiftboot for a short shifter in the NOTES section. We will be sure to note that on the invoice and send you the correct boot set. We do not make the availability to purchase one directly from the website because it makes the purchasing buttons too confusing.

Questions regarding Material Type

Looks like Unwritten beat us to that one.. :) Thank you. That is truely the best way to describe the material of our products.

thanks guys.. i will be ordering a set very soon!

How do you guys think it would look on the Mazdaspeed shifter. I was thinking of going with a black boot and orange stiching.:D

hey, jujeracing.com, do I need to order the short shifter boot for the stock Mazdaspeed? I don't have a short shifter yet but I believe I may need a shorter boot then the protege5 one has.

please let us know.

anyone have recommendation on color combos for the MSP on the shift boot? I have the same thing as Vassago do, but wonder if the grey and orange stitching will look good or not.

jujeracing.com, do you have pics for us to show the combo for Grey + orange stitching and Black + orange stitiching? so we'll have some idea what it will look like?

nice bump. oddly enough, I just ordered a boot set myself. I went with the black w/silver stitching for my silver P5. I didn't order a short shifter boot because i like the look of the full size boot tucked inside on my short shifter.

the price is awesome.

i just ordered one too.. good deal!!

now i just wished that i could get my leather seats re-stitched to match

Unfortunately, we do not have pictures of the Grey or Black with The orange Stitching at the moment, but we can get a picture for you and post it on Monday.

The shift boot set we offer on the main page is the same as the stock shift boot that comes in the vehicle from the factory. Then we are also offering (by request of telling us) a shift boot that is a little shorter to accomodate those with short shifters.

I am sorry but I am not sure if we answered your question, if not just let us know and try to reword it. We could just be misunderstanding.

i believe what phantom was getting at is, the mazdaspeed comes stock with a shorter shifter than the Protege5. So, should the mazdaspeed owners mention something in the notes for a shorter shifter boot or not?

Aw, hell. I just ordered one for my short shifter. =) Plain black, though. But then, if I didn't like flat black, why would it by my nick? ;)

He said prior that the shifter was designed to fit up to 1.5" off the stock shifter. While I beleive Kartboy's is 2" shorter, it'll still look better, anyway, IMO.
