You got it. I was going to make a mini-MBC type valve for it, but I found a cource for ball and spring check valves with viton seals available in a range of seat/spring pressures and flow rates- so I tested it with an MBC hooked as a bleeder so I can adjust it to get it close, measured the psi of the seat pressure and ordered an assortment of check valves going up and down from there and found the one that was best suited all around for the application.

Cool! Although there may be a market for the adjustable version someday...who knows.

I was thinking that too, but I don't trust everyone (no offense guys :) ) with messing around with their FP themselves :). That can be a time bomb waiting to go off.. I just went with the non-adjustable and still kept it safe, so there should be no issues with people screwing up :)..

This kit along with my MAF Enhancer/FCD I am working on are geared towards the guys who want an improvement from stock yet do not have the experince, know-how or patience to tune it themselves or don't need that much flexability- items that they could just hook up and go and know that they can't mess around and blow their cars up :).. Basically the guys that want do do some minor mods and boost up to 10 psi on pump gas to have a nicely running daily driver and the occassional 14 psi race fuel track days with no tuning necessary.

The guys that want to further adjust things and have the tuning know-how to do so will probably be interested in the piggy back unit that perfworks and I will have available shortly. This will allow for more aggressive tuning for the more serious tuners among us.

This is great logic Joe! Makes great sense to me. I have no interest in ever getting into "technical" tuning of my daily driver. Improvements are what I seek, not maintenence nightmares. (thumb)

Thanks- I feel it is beneficial to both me as a business AND you guys as customers to offer a choice :). I'm not forcing the true tuners to sacrifice and I am not forcing the people who just want slight improvements to go all out :).

I do have another unit in the works that will pull some of the fuel while in closed loop also, so that will help with economy some while helping to reduce the low and mid range stumbles.

Will this be compatable with your current mods? FPR and MBC?

(I sound so cool when I use acronyms) ;)

All of the products I am working on are designed to be used individually with the most gains coming from the package.

The exception to this will be the unit that perfworks and I are working on- there will be no reason to manipulate the fuel mechanically (FPR) or use the MAF enhancer when you have full control of the injectors :). Again, they are geared towards two totally different markets- the bang for the buck crowd and the "I have more of a budget and want to take this to the next level" guys :)..

Joe regarding my post earlier, forget about it because I got my kit in the mail today, when I get home from work that will be my project for tonight.

The kit sounds great....and finally I've found someone on this sight who knows what they're doing, but can explain it to rookie tuners like me who understand engines, but don't have much experience working on them. Thanks Joe!

Now everyone's said the install is easy, but for someone who's done nothing more than change their own oil, how long do you think it should take. (Factor in the time it would take me just to FIND the line) Thanks for the help. Hopefully I'll soon be a customer of this great sounding, affordable mod.

I would say that the FPR kit should take about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes max assuming you need to fumble around a bit. Like 10 minutes if you are prepared and have the drill, cutters and screwdriver ready to go and know where the line is to cut :).

Thanks for the compliment :).

Great Thanks! Now I just need to scrounge up $40. Oh...how the tax-man giveth yet taketh away. :D

Ok just installed mine, drove around for about 1hr, damn its nice when the thing does not hesitate, happy customer ;) this is the way the car should work, the motor is so much smoother now

It only took me about 5 minutes to install, but now I have to reconnect my gauge later, which wont take long but right now the motor is waaaay to hot.

Joe why dont you go work for Mazda ;) that way you can fix the other problems with the car and we wont have to pay for them ;) lol....

keep up the good work Joe, looking forward to the piggy back

Another satisfied customer :).. What is the weather like there? It was a little warmer than it has been in NY today and it didn't hesitate at all. Just the typical turbo car, hot day slugishness- none of this on and off crap that it did stock :).
Joe

actually earlier today it was in the low 20's when we went for lunch and it was hesitating then, when I installed it this evening the temp had dropped to about 17 I think, guess I wont get to test it in real heat for a while:(the best its looking is 24 on Sat

I want to put a boost gauge on as well, I understand that you cant have the FPR and the BG on the same line and that there is another line you could connect the BG to. Is that correct?

you are correct it is directly below that line, I saw it there yesterday but my car was to hot to get my hands in there

I take it that's Celcius for those of us below the border?
