I was just at jeff haas mazda and saw a black msp on display. no rear spoiler, upgraded rims, blue calipers, front mount intercooler, i believe it had the split second a/f controller, apexi electronic boost controller, dvd flip out screen, boost gauge (all 3 were in the center section), carbon fiber hood, blah blah blah. i didnt look under the hood because the salesmen are pretty much worthless.

anyways, does this car belong to anyone here?!

i know exactly which one your talking about. it also has te-37s right? my friend bought his mazdaspeed 6 there and the sales guy showed us that msp. he said it used to be the owner of the dealership's son. he traded it in for something, can't remember what. he proceeded to show us the car, under the hood and in the trunk. he's got a massive sound system also. he didn't mention that they were gonna sell it. when i saw it, it was in the garage in the back. but they sales guy did say that it wasn't running properly due to lack of turbo timer.

yeah, that's what the guy said. i'm not a turbo knowledgeable guy so i dunno. it's not like i was gonna buy it anyway.

Man, I think that thing was there a few weeks back when I went to pick up my plates for my MS3. I remember thinking it would sell fast :p

umm.. would'nt that mean the turbo is gonig bad? or the engine is prob going out.. they were prob trying to describe the power going down..they should prob replace the turbo at least....hmmmmmmmmm

the car you saw isn't a msp it's just an up graded 2002 2.0 protege it was the onwers show car, never been sold, it has a turbo timer on it, turbonetics turbo, volk wheels, JL audio sound system, in dash dvd pioneer, they were selling for 16,900, it has about 3,300 miles on the last time i saw it, i used to work in the parts department there... some of the sales guys there dont even know what a turbo is...

Yep, that's the old Mazdaformance show car Shawn Armstrong was in charge of building.

Hey Vic,

I check here every now and then. I still remember you (I'm not that old).

Glad the car was an inspiration to someone. It's just too bad I couldn't do more with the motor/turbo/engine mgmt. setup. They wanted more show than go and the budget was limited.
