JDM_Pro5's Build Thread

i did 20% on all windows even the windshield strip. in NJ you can go as dark as you want on the rear windows but absolutely no tint on the front door windows...needless to say I'M A CRIMINAL! lol

JDM, NC legal is 35%. That was way too light on my last car. I have 20% all around and it looks great. Im not worrying about inspection yet though. You can always do 35 up front and 20 behind the b pillar.

Side note: those rims look really nice!

I could have sworn in was 25%, oh well. Thanks on the wheels btw!

when i bought my first CF hood for my Spec V i drove it without a hood to pick it up. you shouldve done the same lol

I had to pick it up at the downtown bus station. Didn't want to install my hood while fending off rapers and thieves. Actually decided on the drive home to install my hood when I got there.
Next plans include purchasing a MSP bumper. I am selling my stock wheels on new khumos to a guy for $300, just waiting on him to get the money. After the msp bumper, paint. I have a bass guitar and another set of wheels I'm selling to make paint money and buy my wife a better camera. I'm afraid to get a paint quote, it's more expensive every time I get one.

BTW, my buddy had a fully built Sentra TypeR Spec V with a CF hood. That thing was super yellow! O.O

I love it. I was a bit nervous that the cowls would be tall and bulky, but they are pretty low profile keeping the clean/aggressive look

It's a good mesh and has a ridge so pooled water wont leak into it. If any water gets in, it will be very little, plus I would feel wrong taking the function out of the scoops.

P.S. we don't have a monsoon season :D

I can see myself replacing the mesh, or doing a better job. It isn't flush to the hood all around, I may use window-weld to better secure it (if it is heat resistant) and I'll most likely paint this mesh black.

Window weld is heat resistant once you let it fully cure.... my front motor mount is window weld :)

Moar pics to show off my new toy. You can get a better view of the CF, the vents, and driving view. BTW there is blue metaflake in the clear. Very pretty

Woah... the hood looks awesome man!

the mesh looks ok actually lol, i guess they didnt have any incentive to sit it better since it faces away from the public eye.

EDIT: Whats the black circular disc on your dash above the A/C vents?

circular disk looks like a secondary spot for a gps instead of sticking it to the windshield, allows the unit to be closer to you.

BINGO! I have a TomTom, I prefer the standing mount VS window mount. I keep the whole gps setup in my glovebox at all times. I use to keep the gps stand attached to the mounting plate and used to to hold a hackey sack...got tired of it falling off all the time.

Took an HD video of my hood in the sun so you can see the finish. Blue Metaflake with Pearl clear coat. It has a blue tint to it at the right light. Make sure to change the video to 1080P

That's a great looking hood. Worked out that the finish was blue flake to match the car.
