this is the worst thread i have ever contributed to on this forum. you guys are childish.

(shocked) whoa man. i see you take this a little personal. i have mixed feelings about the "new color"...way to go mazda for making money hand over fist.

I agree with you guys that Mazda should keep the colors exclusive
If they are going to do limited editions. But I guess they are
focusing on the performance then the looks. They didn't fit
the suspension and ecu in the new sedan and p5's just the
color. So to me the MP3's are still limited in that sense. Just like
some of the other manufactures. They would only put a certain
size engine in a model and thats it the color didn't matter. Of
course anyone can make their car look and act like the limited
version :D "cough". But you will always be the real deal. So I
don't think you guys should be that mad.

Just my thoughts.

Ps... MPChi.. thanks for the props.

*thinks* maybe I shouldn't do the HOW TO: thing, might get
shoved in an alley and get pounded on :'(

then there's the coolest bolt-on...

ME! That's right, let them paint their proties blue and cram better stereos in them, but they still won't have me behind the tiller, and that's what makes my car cool...

I think I need to rotate my humility....

gimme a break! what about all those people that bought a sony ps2 a month before sony dropped the price $100? should sony give them a refund? no. should mazda be basted because they are now offering a laser blue protege es? no!

 and your response is friggin childish as well. What the hell does $100 off of a PS2 have to do with a car advertised as limited edition, in number and color?

I'm sorry but when I bought this car, I knew it was going to be unique and VERY rare. Now it seems this is all going to change. Yeah, Mazda is going to make buttloads of money off of these Mazdaspeeds and Laser Blue colors, but don't go advertising something as Limited Edition when it simply isn't true.

an idea...

well...there's nothing any of the MP3 owners can do to stop P5s or Pros from being painted the so called limited colors. but maybe theres something they can do to state that its a limited edition?

as most of you know, MP3 owners from the states can call Mazda USA and obtain a build number (sorry to the canada owners...it looks like you'll be ****** with this idea.) ....and as someone previously did before, we could have little plaques put into the car that state our build number, vin, so forth. now any of these can get made...but what if they were produced by Mazda USA, with some sort of certificate to go with it? it would cost very little for Mazda USA to implement this, and it would probably make everyone happy.

now don't get me wrong...i'm in now way upset about the color additions to the new lineup. but i do feel that Mazda should at least do something to satisfy MP3 owners...even if it is as little as a certificate of authenticity.

all this being said...theres no way to guarantee it would go through...as we all know what happened with the kenwood radio petition. but its just an idea...

how does this sound to you guys?

Ok.. I'm reading this thread, and I'm humored by the responses.

This is the source of all the angst:

(also note the new wheels)

I looked at the window sticker, Laser Blue Mica is listed.

You guys are upset about a COLOR. Is it just the color that makes your car an MP3? If so, then why didn't they call them Protege LBM's or something.. Get over the fact that another Protege is painted the same color. If you were so concerned about the exclusivity, etc. of your "collector, limited edition" car, then there wouldn't be so many that are modified beyond belief.

Now, if Mazda built a LX with all of the parts that made your MP3 an MP3, then you guys might have a complaint. Be thankful Mazda built you the car in the first place. I am.

I have changed my mind!

Yestureday I went to the dealer and saw a white protege sedan that was the same as an MP3 other than the nose. They actualy called it the MP3 kit. costs $8000.00 to add to a sedan. Same wing, sides and back but none of the interior was done or the radio, don't know about the suspension.
