hello Everybody.

not sure if anyone remember me, got my msp about a year ago.

about 2 weeks later got oil starved and blew motor.

found a used msp and drove 800 miles one way to tow it back home. $2500
spent 3 months in spare time swapping motor over, got it running and drove it to work and blown head-gasket.

had head gasket replaced. $800

1 week later pulling light shift to second, heard horrible sound of metal and glass having a meth induced bar fight inside my block, long story short snapped a rod =/

decided to not mess with a used motor again, started researching for a forged block.

got ahold of ken at protege garage and has been a huge help and ordered a block from him.

had it installed, something went amiss during install and a bearing spun and gouged and froze the crank (after about 8 months and 3 seconds of life)
ken sent me all the new parts crank bearings etc.

while all was out had LSD welded up.

last weds got it back on the road and it has felt absolutly awesome so far, got past break in and it is just running better and better.

i do have one small remaining issues and still looking into it with a odd and completly random idle issues, it doe not die but goes from like 750-900 down to 400-500 and revs to 1100-1400 and drops down and repeats. but odd thing is next stop like it will idle like normal

well at least she is back on the road. check into the egr and iacv for your idle issues.

found the boost controller was bad replaced it and the bad idle is almost all gone, now it only does it about twice when i first start it up then it is fine. so still looking into it

are there any known grounds or bad electrical connections to ease my search, my right headlamp is dim, put 2 sets of bulbs in and same thing and idle is great unless lights or a/c are on then it bounces / almost stalls

My cousin just finished putting the head on his MSP yesterday and was having the same problem as you. He didn't bother to check the Egr because he cleaned it before reinstalling the head. It turned out to be that the wire harness plugs that connect to the coils were not pushed in all the way. The same thing happend to me after forging my P5 engine and it turned out to be carbon build up in the Egr valve. Check the both things it could be either or both.
