i was just wondering what other people think of the bose stock head unit in the ms6 weather if im better off replacing it with an aftermarket or keeping it. i dont know about other people but when i play cd-r's they tend to skip, alot even when i had just burned them.
Most factory systems have a problem playing CD-Rs. Some moreso than others. Best bet is get a MP3 player and a Auxmod. Never have the skipping problem again and dont have to take up space storing CDs...
as far as i know, the metra kit does not work with the MS6 yet, and this is the only option (as of now) for dash integration. so, if you wanna go custom/aftermarket, it will require quite a bit of work....
Hmm thats weird with the skipping. I decided to keep my Bose head unit for now. And as far as aftermarket mp3 integration, go with the Audiolink Ipod adapter....takes a bit of work, but the best one out there for the ms6.
Also my biggest problem with aftermarket decks is finding one that lets u keep oem steering wheel controls withput too much screwing around. Best one that I found was a Clarion in dash dvd/cd, still debating getting it.
If you shop around there are some decks that support it, some alpine and clarion, but they might be expensive. Also read the sticky in this forum. Has all the info u need.
I'm pretty sure the Metra kit does work with the MS6 as long as it is a recent one with the correct flash.
The stock Bose head unit puts out 2v pre-outs perfect for connecting aftermarket amps. I have yet to have a problem with any of my CD-Rs (I don't use CD-RWs so I can't comment on that).
