Is AWD module program. necessary after diff. replacement?

Hello,

I managed to replace rear differential (with coupler) due to noise from the original. I was under impression that if the new coupler data will not be programmed to AWD, there will be a number of lights on the dashboard (at least ABS, traction, AWD) in meantime I got... nothing. So my question is - is the programming of the new viscous coupler calibration data necessary?

Thanks,

Bez.

It will not set lights but the 4wd module may be unable to correctly control the coupling. Each coupling is tested at the factory for clutch behavior and those numbers tell the module how that clutch operates, if you do not update it you risk premature wear/damaging the coupling.
