If so how much and what kind of mods do you have done to your internals? and what kind of fuel do you run on when you spray

Im thinking about it for my GTI and using a 50 shot so that i can run my 12's and still have a Daily Driver on a stock turbo....

you want to run a 50hp shot on a stock block 1.8 turbo VW? And you think you'll hit 12's??

you might want to try the VW boards man....sounds like you're asking for trouble.

yea and i am not asking for trouble, i know people that do it now, my engine can handel up to about 425 HP on stock internals. and once i get an LSD tranny, chip, N2o, and some drag radials i will be in the mid to high 12's with a stock turbo

but i was wondering if any of you had anything done to your engines when spraying

on my previous N20 motor all I had done was a larger volume fuel pump (walboro 255lph), a CAI, better exhaust.

Good luck dude. I've seen a Golf here run 7.20's in the 8th....That's about an 11s quarter.

you know what year or what version was it? i think i know what you are talking about mine is an MK4 but i think that one was an MK2....

and thanks...i forgot about the larger fule pump, exhaust, and cooler spark pulgs

steve, 12s from a 50 shot? Are we talking about stock PSI here too? Eh...

anyways, not many people here run n2o...and those who do, i dont think they will last long. our engines dont like nitrous i dont think

oh yeah, right, forgot that chip = more PSI. gotta remember, the protege camp here dont have s*** for ECU chipping, and plus we dont have ECU controlled valves and s***.

tightness.

and you don't have strong internals;) lol j/k

but you can take me on the twisties till i get all my suspension work done lol

just for your information a mk4 gti 1.8 turbo wont be able to handle a 50 shot or any shot at that on stock internals. my friend and i both had 1.8s and he decided to try it and lost it all. hes a die hard track racer and has been a car guy for about 20 years. the 1.8 is to smart of a car. you cant do anything to that car with out it ******* up in some way. it was designed to be perfect when it is stock.

Why wouldn't you got to a VW board and ask VW owners this??? You know Mazda and VW have different engines....
i know that i was just wondering if anyone was spraying.

it can take a 50 shot as long as you take other precautions and it has to be taken wet, not dry....check out the vortex boards, there are about 4-5 people on there getting low 14 mile times from spraying...

if they are only getting 14s on spray how are you getting 12's? i didn't think a chip would drop 2 seconds on the 1/4 mile but i don't know much about gti's either.

with out spraying, and using a chip, i should be in the mid 14's then once i add LSD i should be in the low 14's high 13's....then once i start spraying i should be in the high 12's (of corse add in the bigger injectors and so on and stuff)

It takes quite a bit of power to run 12s. But hell I ran a huge shot of nitrous on the Mustang. I don't think a 50 shot can take off an entire second though. Maybe a 100 shot.

well with LSD, chip, Exhaust, DV, NJ75, larger injectors, slicks, gutted interior (as in taking out rear seats and spare) 104 or 110 octane....that stuff right there will get me mid 13's plus spraying will help spooling (doesn't need alot) but if i am spraying on throtle and starting to spray when i hit mid second gear then they should take a huge chunk off my time..

right now if i try to get going fast, i can spin my tires through till mid 2nd gear. with LSD that will decrease my launch time lots allowing me to get going faster and higher trap speed
