Is an ECU flash necessary for....?

Hey all, I just bought my MS3 recently and had a couple questions that I couldn't answer when searchin the past posted threads. My brother has the WRX and that was the first turbo car that I had the chance to get my hands dirty with. We found out that if we didn't flash his ECU after installing his CAI, the motor would supposedly go to s*** because it would make it run too rich. Is this the case for the CAI on the MS3? I've never really heard of people having to flash the ECU after all kinds of different mods except on the WRX (we ended up just getting a turbo upgrade, new FMI, downpipe, and turbo back exhaust, installed it all at once... then got it professionally tuned... much safer and less complicated then all that programming). So, basically, my question to everyone is should we flash the ECU every mod we put on and if not, is that the case for all the bolt ons?

Considering there is no current flash for the MS3 ECU..it doesn't matter. The car runs rich in stock form. Motors don't go to s*** with a CAI unless you submerge it under water.

While an ECU tune would be most optimal, nah, a CAI mod won't require a new tune in order to run safely.

It doesn't seem like an ECU tune is necessary for any of the available mods out for the MS3 right now. But it's still a bit early to tell...

Of course, any modded MS3 will benefit from a dedicated tune, once a tuning device is released.
