Estimated Market Price
$24,128
National Average
MSRP $24,055
Invoice $22,497

i see people buying the between 22 and 22.5
so is 24 otd realistic? what should i expect to pay for one.

all the dealers within 50 miles of me have a 3k markup
im thinking of flying to another state and driving one back
right now.

im actually in so cal..i got my sport for 22,700 i think..when i get home ill look at the sticker price

24k otd for a gt is not going to happen. I got my gt w/o nav for 24,907.42 OTD keys in my hand.

thats really good...

i paid like $22,300 for my MS3 Sport with no options and i owed $700 on my trade. came out to about $25,000 out the door.

the only thing cooler about the GT's anyway are the HID's!

24352 out the door im sure with no mirror or wheel locks ya could be at 24 why does a couple hundred really matter in ur loan? 300 for 48 months is $ 2 a month

It's really difficult to compare one sale to the next.

Unless both sales have no trade, the same sales tax, same title & license fees, and you don't use the dealer for financing (bring your own financing with you), those are all variables that change what you pay for the car, OTD.

For example, the salesman can afford to go much lower on the price of the car if he screws you out of $$$$ on your trade. They do similar deals on financing, but those are harder to spot unless you have shopped around and know your credit score.

I'm going through this now. I'm negotiating the price of the car (including state tax and other fees) apart from financing and trade. I have my own financing from Capital One (Blank Check, neat way to do it) and I'm not even going to talk about a trade until after price of the car is settled.

My best price so far for a MS3 GT, no options, no nav: $23,825.
Add state sales tax, title, license, registration, "document fees", and the best OTD price is $25,300.

I'm going through another round tomorrow and will try to get them down another $800-$1000. Hey dudes, if you're reading, first one to get me the car for $24,300 total OTD gets the sale. No questions asked.

The best tool is the mazdausa.com website. It shows you what the dealers have in stock, what color, down to the last option. I know there are 6 MS3GTs in the color I want in my area.

One salesperson told me she had the LAST MS3GT in my entire region. He currently has the lowest price, but I don't want to give my business to such a blatant liar.

Good advice, but be aware that the locator function on mazdausa.com often lags behind actual inventory changes. It showed my nearest dealer as having 3 MS3s and they in fact had none. OTOH, it showed another dealer having three and they had four. YMMV...

That's a valid point, and I have been watching the local inventories for a while now. I'd be really surprised if it lags more than a few days. Besides, other dealers have sent me VINs of cars they have in stock.

Back to the OP's question, it depends on what you mean by OTD. If I leave out state tax and registration, I'm getting prices below $24,000 for the car. Add that stuff on, and I'm not.

I was 24,400 OTD with $600 neg equity in my trade. For the math we-todded, that's 23,800 OTD on a sport.

Okay, this is what I mean. This is one of those things that just clouds the price.

You owed $600 more than the car was worth. So things depend on how you define what the car is worth. Retail, private party, wholesale, plus the condition of the car.

So say you owe $10,600 on the car, and the dealer tells you it's worth $10k wholesale. Okay, there's your -$600. But if the dealer knows he can sell the car for $12,600, he's getting another $2k in the deal. So the dealer is making back his $600, plus another $2k on this transaction. So, to him, he sold the MS3 for $25,800.

only not really. Not in my case anyway. My GTI was modified. Modified well beyond what the dealer could have sold (my Mazda dealer is also a VW dealer)
A good friend of mine works at the local auto exchange and saw my car at auction. I was given $7600 for my car. It sold at auction for $7000 even. My dealer lost $600 that they probably absorbed because I paid MSRP on the MS3.

yeah, it's hard to compare prices as complicated as they go, if you live in a state with sales tax like WA 8.9% ouch, everyone pays tax and licensing but that's not dealership profit, that's the government.

I paid 24055 for a 07 ms3 gt in silver, no nav, extended the warranty bumper to bumper to 7 years/100k for 2k - got what I thought was fair on the trade (and saved the value of the trade's in reduced sales tax) one free oil change and free hand car washes for life. the dealership is right next door so i hope to take advatage of that often.

The only surprise left is getting r*ped by the insurance company when they decide whats fair price to insure me. errr. dang it. so is everyone else paying for the insurance that our car loans require? 600, 800, 1000,1200? for six monthes?

if you ar ein socal look around half the dealers dont have a mark up!!!!!!

I got my sport for msrp. no mark up.
and the delaer i went to never have a mark up. But just put a deposit down before they add things.
same as browing in lakewopod/cerritos area no mark up!
and try joey at ford/ mazda of orange! no ford guy knows how to sell the mazdas. so he is doing all he can to sell them!!!!

Hmm...the numbers I'm seeing you guys post are disappointing at best.

I bought my MS3GT; Sirius Sat, Wheel locks, Window Tint for $23,900 OTD.

I only talk to the fleet manager, I haven't talked to a sales shark for more than 10 years now. MSRP and window stickers are a joke to me. My cars window sticker was $25,495.

Oh, and I did not trade a vehicle in OR put money down. I also got financing on my own. Lessons learned after being screwed over on my first vehicle back some 18 years ago. Overpriced pick-up truck that put me into repo land.

It's good to check on sites like this to see what people are paying before you go for one yourself. Good luck!

Come to Vegas, I bought mine for a touch under sticker back when they first came out. They wanted to sell it above MSRP, and I started to walk, then they asked what it would take, and I pointed to what the manufacturer's price was, and I said "That'll do.", and it was done.

If you want one, come to Vegas, pick it up for just under sticker. Good to go!
