Does anyone kow of a way to get an Ipod interface and RCA plugs to install on the back of the factory P5 stereo? I want to get the Ipod interface from Gromaudio I think, but would also like to fiberglass a small sub box for the rear hatch area to hold a 8" sub and run an amp of the factory stereo. Is this even possible? Let me know if you guys have any suggestions. I do not want an fm modulator and I don't have a tape deck so please don't offer that suloution. Want to run Ipod cord thru the glove box and mount amp under passanger seat so... Anyone got any idea. I've had several notices from my apartment complex about cars being broken into so I would perfer not to get a after market head unit although I know it would be the easyiest solution.

What you're asking for is definitely possible, provided you get an amp with line level inputs if you don't want to get a new head unit. As for mounting the amp under the seat, considering that the P5 is a compact car, you'll have to be careful about rear passengers and their feet. If you're set on putting it under the seat, try to get a physically small amp, and you'll also have to cut the vent that directs air to the rear passengers' feet.

thats is basically the setup I have. i am running off of the stock stereo and I have a LOC (line out converter) and have a 900 watt amp pushing 2 12 inch polk momo subs. plus i have the grom audio device which literally just plugs into an already existing hole in the back of the stereo. any audio place can hook you up with a LOC and install your amp/sub, just email them a head. I got the install and LOC for $120 i believe. i installed the grom device, just gotta yank the head unit to get to the back of it.

Sounds like the LOC is the way to go. I can't believe I didn't think of that before, I know what they are and what they do just never used one. Shouldn't be to hard to hook up. Gonna do the Grom thing sounds awesome. and as far as the amp goes, It's going to be small just enough to run one 8" sub about 100 watts peak maybe 50watt RMS. Might try to get it behind the rear panels. We'll see. Thanks for the help everyone.
