iPhone 5s issue with USB

Hi all,

I have a 2014 GT that I bought on 12/22 with a 8/2013 build date. Immediately after my purchase, I was able to sync my 1945+ song library iPhone 5s via USB and Bluetooth without issue other than what has already been mentioned in prior posts.

After a week, the radio head started showing iPod error whenever I plugged in my iPhone via USB. While the phone still charged, I was unable to control music via the iPod/USB screen. Bluetooth worked and still works fine.

In the meantime, I read on other threads that I should restore the iPhone and sync again. I did that and still had the iPod error message on the screen. I tried swapping out lightning cables and used another iPhone 5s and still had the same error.

I took the car into the dealership last week for an unrelated warning light and reported the issue to them. They did a reset on the system and reported that everything worked normal and any further issue would be related to the lightning cable or device. Prior to leaving the dealership, I plugged in the iPhone and saw the same error. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay to troubleshoot the issue with the dealer and said I would return on Monday.

This time, I tried syncing my iPad mini that had 5 songs on it and the USB sync and control worked fine. I restored the iPhone again and still it did not work. Finally, I removed all songs from my iPhone's library, except for 5 songs and the phone started to work again via USB.

Alfer additional troubleshooting, it appears that my phone causes the head to display an error when I have 53 (51 songs and 2 podcasts) or more songs in my library. I will attempt to replicate this error with the iPad mini tomorrow.

Any ideas on what might be causing this issue and a possible resolution? Like I've mentioned previously, I have already performed a restore and the magic number of songs in my iPhone library to cause an error is 53. I've seen other threads that suggest a 2000 or so library limit, but I'm only at 53 here.

Thanks in advance,

CessnaDriver

My 5s has nearly 4000 songs on it and I don't have a problem with it connecting to my CX-5 via BT or cable. I can't offer help sorry.
