Ion performance

My personal opinion of Ion and experience with Ion has been nothing but good. I was the first on this forum to purchase his Sport Springs, which I had on my P5 for roughly 6 months, until I realized that snow/ice/Montreal potholes were going to kill my car in winter.

Other than the springs, I don't know much about his products, but can generalize and say that they are quality (springs barely settled) and customer service is great.

Bottom line: Ion is A-OK.
You don't like him or his products, then don't buy.

I've got to think there are a lot of folks like me that won't buy a part sight unseen. A better website might boost sales for Ion.

Ions ways are somewhat different but there are several folks who are quite pleased with their products and service. I guess you cant please everyone.

I understand both sides of the arguement, for and against IoN.

I personally find it interesting that in 1 year they have failed to produce a webapage. I'm not talking a flash guru site, but something easy, like spools(excluding the intro). I dunno call me crazy.

I also didn't like how the company themselves do not post pics and dynos on the forum, but rather the customers do so. I would personally like to see both. This is a community, and as a community we should share or ideas and progress. IoN feels like there is some industrial spy that will steal their ideas right out from under them.

We are not asking for the blueprint to a engine here. I think the request for simple dyno numbers and a couple of pics would definitely put IoN high in my book of vendors.

I just find it so odd that a vendor wont do that. Spool and Joe and even Wanger do it, and none is stealing thier ideas?(RIP Spool :( ).

But the company will do whatever the company will do. I just wish they would listen to the people buying thier products a little more.

All in all I don't think I will buy much from IoN until I see so hard evidence, like the one supporting the fmic. Also I find them a tad too pricey for me personally. 1.2k for a turbo on a mazdaspeed is insane, I could buy a HKS titanium 3.5 turbo back for a supra for that much. I know the msp is a limited market, but lets not charge that much! :(.

I talked to Jack once on the phone and he seemed very nice. I just don't like the fact that you have to wait 4 months to get an exhaust, but customer service seems very good. He always answered my PM's and e-mails.

PS: Shaolin I don't like your videos. The slow down my already slow connection. Why can't you get rid of them? Be considerate. Not everyone has cable modem. Thanks.

I PM'd Ion once to inquire about the FMIC and he phoned me back to talk to me for about ten minutes at his expense. I've been on vendor sites that are pretty as hell and they never, or slowly respond to your questions. All I wish is that I had the coin for a Ion FMIC. Someday! :)

Eric-BlackMSP - FYI, for each of our products we have posted both R&D dynos as well as had the results confirmed by customers (both in the industry & private individuals).

03MSPRO - A string of bad luck in regards to things that are out of our control is why it has taken this peroid of time. You have to remember, we're not mass producing using robots. All pieces are lovingly hand crafted.

iON is a good company who makes good products... but they should at least get a website working. They would probably get a lot more business that way
