Ion 3 inch turbo back installed

Actually, I was quoted $999 for the cat-back...$1499 for the full turbo-back with downpipe. This included a hi-flow cat and SS muffler. It's more for certain options. Plus, you have to pay for shipping from Canada. Good stuff, just way too high for me right now!

mspdfreak<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_771688", true); </SCRIPT> - the member discounted price is actually $1399US + shipping for the street-spec full turbo-back system (which includes a 3" hi-flow cat). We will be holding another GB shortly, our target is 10 people @ $1299US + shipping.

mspeed101 - if you can find a shop to make something like this for less then $1500US as a one-off/custom set-up you'll be in luck.

girth<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_772015", true); </SCRIPT> - look more closely @ the pics. You can see the angle of the slash cut on the tip from the side of the car.

Jason94Cobra - there's a limited lifetime warranty on all manufacturer's defects on the exhaust. It's not warranted against off-road excursions or anything that's user-caused. The price for club members is as stated above $1399US + shipping. That's everything right off the turbo to the tip of the muffler that's replaced. The standard street-spec comes with a 3" hi-flow cat.

Question for those with the 3" cat - does it throw a CEL without a MIL eliminator?

girth - no CEL is thrown w/ the 3" hi-flow cat :)
Sweet!! I was afraid any messing with the stock cat setup would throw a CEL. Not that a MIL eliminator is expensive....but it's just 1 hassle I don't need then.

after driving around for awhile i can say im really happy with this purchase
the sound level is great, not too loud, rich, deep sound, with a nice growl:D
it also doesnt drone bad at all around town, even after i drove for 2.5 hours rangin 60-85mph, it wasnt bad at all. i also have the no cat no resonator exhaust, so ones with cats will be a little quieter. Power is great, so much smoother and boost really hits hard. I noticed a big difference even though i had been running a 2.5 catless before it.

the stock hanger bushings hold it pretty well cause its so lightweight, i cant wait to see how how the poly hangers will work.

I must say that the ION is one hell of an exhaust. I like the fact that it goes over the rear and not under it like APEX does. I'm going to have around $1500.00 to spend when taxes come back and this would be something to get, but I'm thinking more of FMIC (which I've been dying to get), and a DP with high flow cat. That should cover the $1500.00 and then some.

Nice exhaust though...just love it.

I took my exahust out, all the parts were there and things look good for the most part, there is a small ding in the muffler at the end of the exhaust but it won't be visible. DHL beat the living hell out of the box it was shipped and honestly I am surprised all the parts were still there and things arrived in great shape. I can't wait to get it in, it truly is a work of art.

yeah i dont know how feasable it is from where your located jack, but DHL beat the s*** out of my box too. I would say switch to a new company, if possible.

I got it for about a $1000 there is no better exhaust for the mazdaspeed then Ion's I can pretty much guarantee that.
I can personally attest to loving it myself! :D It rocks....

Wow....Sounds like you fellas are quite happy with your purchase....I browse these boards and see a lot of people clowning on Ion.....(Maybe only because they have no website, who knows).....But I think that you just cleaned their name up for some....Good luck with the parts guys.....

Holy s***

I went out today and turned the boost up to about 7 or 8 and this thing pulls like a mother.
I was actually laughing out loud in my car with this huge grin on my face, other cars were confused.(rofl)
That's the kind of response I had when I put in my ION FMIC and CAI. I can't wait to get the exhaust in and get that feeling all over again. Then the boost controller and other goodies go in.

I don't know whats more hilarious. The $1500 for some pipe and a muffler, or the $1500 for some pipe and a muffler. :P

I guess I just can't fathom spending 7.5% of the original price of a car for some pipe and a muffler.

Looks nice though, as it damn well should.

Emode - of all the shipping companies thus far, we like DHL/Loomis/Airborne's relatively low rate of damage incidents. We've had Lots of problem with FedEx ground as well as UPS in the past with damaged & lost pieces.

So have you noticed you're now able to break loose your tires quite easily? ;) Just wait till the rest of the car is up to par... at 10psi, that'll probably be @ the limit of what most people will be able to handle on the street.

jrodhotrod - you definately won't be dissapointed ;)

DooMer_MP3<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_776444", true); </SCRIPT> - the general motto is "you pay to play". When it comes to cars, nothing is cheap... unless ofcourse you're talking about the old school muscle cars... now that was "cheap" power!

it would have destroyed my stock tires, but i put on some new Khumo Ecsta MX at the same time, plus the front engine mount, so now she grips too!
