MAZDASPEED Tractor
I did drive Mazda engine powered forklifts at Menards. I still want to take that engine out and put it in a go kart. Diesel powered Mazda Kart. That's what you should get Tee. A Mazda Diesel Kart. Mazda DK. haha

Oops... Idk why they don't work for you... I'm gonna look for some more in the area. Just keep your eyes peeled and search Cars.com... search for something with a price cap of 15k or so, something you could haggle on. Because for 10k there really weren't any deals except the two I found.

You could get those prices down... and the only new ones are smileys and they wouldn't be optioned out like these ones.

I can't do 15K simply because I cannot make the monthly payments. REMEMBER: I'm a college student with a college student job. Meaning, I do not work 9-5 making 14 dollars an hour... no I work only like 25-30 hours a week making 8.25

PLUS I have rent and what not to worry about. SO; with that in mind the car HAS to be around 10K

Hooray for someone knowing a budget and actually sticking to it (GTO anyone?).

My previous car (2000 Trans Am) was from Carmax. We found the price to be decent. It ended up having obviously been in a front-left collision as the paint was swirled and stuff in the engine bay welded/replaced. It was enough to pass Carmax's inspection but not enough to pass my inspection. So I traded it in for the p5 and walked out w/$1,300 in cash. :)

Wherever you go, take your time. Before you buy a used car, look over everything. My dad and I spent 2 hours messing with that T/A in the showroom. We never noticed the paint swirls since it was inside and I was too "zomg I can go fast in a straight line" to notice the repairs. But we messed with the T-Tops, the headlights, fog lights, turn signals, hazard lights, brake lights, parking brake, stereo, spare tire (we even took it out), various fluids, windows, cup holders, seat belts, etc. We did everything short of changing a wheel.

One suggestion - have a price in your mind that you're willing to pay for each month and then tell the dealer $50 less. If they won't even work with you, then you're wasting your time - best to go somewhere else.

That's a good suggestion- I'll have to keep that in mind...

As for inspecting the car: I'm dead sure I will check everything I can... plus before I buy anything I have Joel and possibly Justin looking over the car for anything that my small knowledge on cars misses (ex: under the hood).

Because this is going to end up being a HUGE commitment (ie: me making monthly payments)- I want to make sure I fall in love with my car and love everything about it. I've test driven one Mazda3 and know that THIS is my car- MY Mazda per-say... Now it's just time to find the Mazda3 that fits me.

I guess I just am extremely fearing making the commitment to getting a car and not being able to upkeep it... Plus to make it somewhat better so I can show it off like everyone else does at this car shows?! Man, with my small income there is no way I'll ever be able to attempt to compete! ey! Maybe I should just look for a new job (shady)

At your price range, you will either have to go with a higher mileage 3s, or a lower mileage but not optioned out and less powerfull 3i.

I'd be alright going with slightly higher mileage 3s... I cannot STAND cars that are not power windows or have cruise control... Makes me feel cheap..

Well, I saw a 3s on cars.com that had mid 60k miles and was an s... it's worth a look. Like I said, you should just browse around cars.com and see what you can find.

Will do as well as Vehix.com and a few other sites of the sort...

Oh! Quick question (to anyone who wants to answer)-

What happens after you get a car? Like; what additional costs don't I know about; Like do I have to purchase plates right away? What other costs should I have to worry about?

(if you don't understand I'll try to explain better)
