Intake + MBC = 14.3 @ 98mph

guys if you look on under your hood they should of updated the sticker that says your BTDC degree. Which is what your timing is currently at.

By the way I plan on purchasing some nitto's really soon to help out my 60 ft. times 2.0 here I come!

Well I have been at 11PSI post flash for a while and yes it could pop but so far so good and there are those running 12 PSI on daily drivers post flash.
I don't think (from what I have seen) that the timing has been advanced all that much and only in a ceratin section of the rev range. I have sent quite a few PM's to those "in the know" and the cautious concensus is to up it slowly and see.
I personally would like a "real" tuner obviously not myself to run this thang at 12 PSI post flash in the quater and see what they see.
Yes, I love much more about the car than a 1320 slip and I KNOW IT'S NOT A DRAGSTER! :p :D :p

AGR come in here and tell me you hate the 1/4 mile. (k) ;) (k)

I actually don't care much about my ET... just wanted to know my trap speed to see what I can beat from a roll. (2thumbs)

i was gonna say- people have been problems running double digit boost after the flash. i'd keep the ECU the old way and just get colder plugs. sounds like to avoid the hesitation, mazda increased timing= not good with high boost levels...

Exactly what I have been saying since I first read about it :). But, NOOO, everybody here knows more than I do :D lol..

Anyway, very nice times. Congrats!!

first off all :

- We have a knock sensor !

- Running with a proper gaz (94 minimum), proper colder plug is very safe to run with 9 or 10psi of boost. Don't forget, the compagnies add a LOT "goods" for safety on new car.

The Mazda knock sensor in the MSP is only good in those "just in case" situations, it is not reliable enough to trust to save your motor. They need to make it a more active part of timing control than it really is like most "tunable" turbo cars are.

Went to the track last night. My first run of the night with only a few minutes to cool down after a 45 minute drive:

My mods:
- Short-Ram Intake
- Joe P. MBC @ 10-12psi
- Joe P. FPR
- Joe P. FCD

Stock tires. Stock exhaust. Pump gas. No flash. ;)

My first run turned out to be the best that night. Made a couple of 14.4 @ 97-98mph runs. And a couple of bad ones where 2nd gear didn't like me. Launching this car is a pain. Launch too hard and it gets insane wheel hop (needs better motor mounts). Launch too soft and it bogs first gear until ~4200rpm then starts to spin -- side effect of the FCD where the MAF signal changes.

Can't wait to head back to the track when I get my 3" downpipe & exhaust on. :)

Yup crack will do that to a MSP....:D

next time everyone wants to go to morosso let me know. I was goin to wait til the front mount was installed, but I will go to run with some fellow members. The next midnight madness is oct. 4
