Intake/exhaust-cam's/Cam-gears VS Header

I noticed 2 butterflies when I went to play with it today. Does the system close the low RPM runners and just open the larger ones??? I guess to really tell I should have someone rev the car to redline while I look. I think I'll do that tomorrow and let you know.

One set is the VTCS (Variable tumble control) which helps atomize the fuel when the engine is cold. The VICS (Variable Intake Charge System) opens the plenum for higher rpm power.

with the VICS - it opens up what i call the VICS chamber at high rpm (normally closed the rest of the time), giving the intake runners more volume only. this is a similar effect to shorter runners. the problem i have with this system is that it creates a lot of turbulance in the runners. we do not have a dual intake runner, nor does the j-spec

The VICS on my car has dual runners. The longer runners are open all the time, but the shorter runners open up as well at 5300RPM....

are you sure? coz on our cars it looks exactly the same, but the VICS runners dont connect to the plenum in anyway

There are two chambers in the plenum. The main chamber feeds air into the second chamber, which feeds the high RPM runners. It's an odd looking path when you look at it. No biggie, all of that's getting junked on my car...Webers, here I come...

sounds like it's the same as ours. the second (VICS) chamber has no direct path to the plenum. it is only connected via the long runners...hard to explain

yah custom IM is the shiz in an NA buildup, everytime I read that Foo article and the comments they made about how important the custom IM was to their power gains that they designed the STB around it....makes me feel like it could be just as restrictive a part in the end of an NA buildup as our exhaust manifold and DP.

Essential Speed makes custom intake manifolds. They start at only $600CDN too, which is like $400US. It's the route I'll be take if I don't get the Webers, since VICS manifold, although great for a wide powerband, is pretty restrictive in the top end. I'm lucky, since Essential Speed is only a 30 minute drive from me.

im approaching 2 months of waiting since my payment was cleared. hopefully my header will be shipped soon. im dying for it!
