Insurance Rates

Does anyone else have Allstate?

Thats what I have and I recently got a quote on an MS3 at ~$2,100 a year.

... Granted I'm only 18, and have 2 tickets on my record. annnnd kind of sort of totaled my last car by accident (one of the tickets) haha

but still... that seems a bit ridiculous anyways... especially since I took a drivers ed course, have good grades, and have been with them for 3 years.

I wish I had that "First Accident Forgiveness" deal... that would have been nice.

Anyways... I'm going to look at quotes from other companies soon depending on the responses in this thread.

Haha, insurance makes me hurt inside from laughing. I am 19 and drive a protege5 and have 1 ticket that the insurance company probably doesn't know about and I pay more than you. No accidents, nothing. The reason? WHERE I LIVE! it's so bulls*** lol

Also I have to add that I have full coverage. I know a lot of people who talk about their insurance rates don't disclose the fact that their insurance sucks lol

On my policy the wifes 6 hatch is registered as a Mazda 6, where mine is registered a Mazdaspeed 6.
Full coverage, 500 deductable
6 Hatch--$350.00
Speed 6--$368.00
6 month policy
no tickets (Valentine)

I'm starting to wonder if they know mine is an MS6..... who's your company?

Dead Generation I know exactly how you feel. I've noticed that my insurance costs more because I live in South Florida than it would if I were to move to a place I've considered in North Carolina.... the move to NC would drop my insurance rate.

USAA for a looooong time. I usually get a rebate check at the end of the year for around $200-$300. They should know it's a Speed 6, instead of a regular 6. Also, I told my insurance that I have daytime driving lights.(ha ha). I asked about more of a discount because of stability control, they said that doesn't apply, which I thought to be strange, since it's soon going to be mandatory on all cars soon.

That's very good. Maybe that means age can be more important than tickets.

Are you sure they know it's a Speed3? Who is your insurance company?

I think maybe one of my tix may have disappeared, it was issued March 2005, and I went to court over it November 2005, however as of around March 2007 I got a report of my records and it was still on there. :(

My insurance company is Farm Bureau Ins, I think it's local... But I know it's all over Indiana, at least. I forgot to add $30, they have you purchase membership in the Farm Bureau something-or-other. I have been with them, though, since 1998. I get safe driver discount, multi-lines discount (since they have my cars and home/rental), discount for working where I do, my county is cheaper than Indy proper, and there's some kind of rate bracket for being driven only 150miles/week or less.

When I bought my 'Speed3 the rates went up by $21 every 6mos, or $42/year. I made very clear it was a performance vehicle just because I kind of know my agent and I just couldn't believe how cheap it was.

I know Statefarm is very good company however I got qouted 1650 a year with $250 collision and comp on a MS3. I been with them since I was 16 and I have a clean record. I've seen the results after many accidents and luckily statefarm is one of the first to pay for damages for auto's.

I've only had one claim with Farm Bureau and it was homeowner's, there was a bad ice storm, and w/in 4 days they had me a check for $8700. I got quotes and managed to fix a lot more before I sold the house than was damaged in the storm. Farm Bureau was the s*** on that one; they even gave me $400 for the meat in my deep freeze and paid for a week in a hotel for me.
