instead of pushing our engines to death!

It all depends on how serious he wants to get with comfort/safety items.. If hes trying to make it a all out track car he can easily remove 600lbs of stuff that is useless on the track...As for a daily driver hes looking at maybe 300lbs beforew it gets to be too much...
 
Well When My Friend That WEIGHTS 300 Lbs Is In The Car With Me, I Feel The Car So Slow!!! Maybe 300 Lbs Will Make A Diff. Any Body Know If I Drop 300lbs How Mucht 1/4 Mile Imprvment We Can Get?
 
I got my car well under 2700lbs by replacing the basic pieces....

- Gt-spec aluminum replacement pieces
- Full-suspension coilovers
- gutted trunk - carpet, spare, etc
- Carbon hood & trunk
- Lightweight 17lbs wheels w/ aluminum lugs
- Removing brackets and random pieces/resevoirs in the engine bay
 
stripping all the doors and then doing carbon fiber doors along with the hood and truck...probably another 50lbs or more right there by doing the doors. also at the track, dont run with too much gas in the car..only run with what u need..gas adds weight.

I could see doing the suspension pieces, removing the plastic covers, and pulling the spare/jack, then swapping in some forged wheels and when you go to the track, pull the door panels, center console (possibly), rear seats, and rear deck and that would get you some decent weight shedding. I plan on the wheels, but thats about it.
 
You should just sell the car and get that new worlds cheapest Indian car that has all the basics. You can use the left over money to build the motor and boost the crapola out of it.
 
you can replace the front seats w/ lightweight racing ones. i dont think anyones done that yet.
carbon fiber is nice, but you could do fiberglass on some parts and it would save you money and weight.
if it isnt your daily driver, and were talking 1/4 mile only, then you can remove some of sway bars and other chassis stiffening stuff. then your car will be like a mustang, handle like s*** but fast straight.
lexan the rear glass and 2 rear windows might save almost 100 pounds in itself.

That is a good one. Does your(or all) ms6 have power seats? That is a TON of weight right there. The ms3 don't have power seats, so probably you can get away with swaping the ms6 seats for the ms3's.
 
You should remove the back seat when you go to the track. It's something like 6 bolts, I think, and it doesn't take anytime at all to do.

Should save a litte weight

could possibly lose some weight by changing out the discs for cross drilled slotted and getting some different calipers

**that is if ours are not light weight to begin with
