Installing Sparkco

Are there any instructions available online on installing the Sparkco wires in a P5 or is it just another "feel your way there" thing?

Pretty simple... Just pop off the old and put on the new. Be sure to use some Dielectric Grease!

I don't know. I've been staring at my engine for 15 minutes still trying to figure out which wires to pull and replace ;P

two tone color is nice, but big strips of white on metalic red? :wtf:

talk about poor taste

Do the wires help at all? Or is it just maintenance?

god, give it up. i think im going to start a site called the "everybody hates my car site". I don't care what your car looks like and I didnt ask for your opinion. REER!

I don't think it looks that bad. I could see how you'd like it...I wouldn't paint my car like that...but it is pretty cool.

It was an easy install. There are 2 coil packs that you'll see the wire's on, pull off of them (remember which wores were connected to which coil packs). Those are the wires you're replacing. The other ends of the wires run down into the head and contact the plugs. Use a simple twist and pull method to free them. Pull upward from the engine. Now just put the new wires in where you took these two out. Connect the wires back to the coil packs and you're done. Pretty easy install huh.

I'm doing this all by memory but I'm pretty sure that's how its done. If you need any other help let me know. I can go down and look at my car and help you out more. Good luck. And it's always great to do something to your car by yourself. It's a great feeling, so enjoy it.

Oh and as far as helping any, theres some that say it does. I was doing it hoping to get some better gas milage, not really for an increase in power or anything. And I don't really know if it helped or not cause I keep forgetting to reset my tripometer whenever I fill up. So I can't help you out there. Sorry.

EDIT: I edited this cause I put a cofusing line in there about needing a spark plug socket. that's only if you're changing plugs too. In you're post you only said wires so I fixed it as such.

Thanks for your help...that small wire seems too big (twisted it funny).

Car just hit 20k miles...bought the spark plugs, but don't think I should install them yet....Any thoughts?

go for it

there has to be a reason why lots of people don't like how your car looks right?

the car sure is unique and attracts attention... in a BAD way "omg! look at how ugly that car looks!"... a real show stopper... maybe you'll get a trophy for "most unique car" too

making a showcar is an art... like a painting... priceless paintings happen to be done perfectly in balance to be interesting, and display skillfulness, and eye pleasing to everyone at the same time

good luck with your showcar
might I suggest you go to Paris, France for some artistic inspiration? ;)
