INstalling Boost and Air Fuel Gauge??

Ok tomorrow I am INstalling my Boost guage and Air Fuel Gauge. First it doesn't look to hard but I have a couple questions to some people that have already done it.

BOOST GAUGE
1. When connecting the nylon tubing to the back of the Gauge it shows ferrule on top of the tube, when I tried to tighten it, it just slippe right out. HOw do you get the ferrule to stay on the tube. There was two ferrule in the box on of them fit a little tigher, is it supposed to? Is that how it connects and stays.. It just didnt seem like it would stay if i did it like that?

2. What t-fitting do i need to get? Is the 1/8 connector shown on the instructions in the box?

Air/Fuel Gauge

1.What did everyone connect the violet wire too? It says connect it too the O2 sensor wire. But after that it says "Connect to vehicle wiring harness, not oxygen sensor since some oxygen sensors use shielded wire.

Sorry I just dont want to mess anything up..

Thanks for the Help

I think there is a how to thread about the O2 sensor, and the PCM. There are several places to tap the vacuum, there are a couple of ports on the manifold, or you can use the line on the BPV, although it is more accurrate on the manifold.

boost gauge: 1) you shouldn't use the nylon tubing, just go buy some rubber vaccuum hose and use that, the nylon can easily crease/crack, causing a leak and many headaches later on
2) 1/8" is usually the right size t fitting
(3) i think you tap the line going to the fpr for the easiest connection (i know that's where i did it on my dsm but i haven't done it to this car so i'm not sure), but as 122 Vega said there is more than 1 place to tap into, search around, im sure youll find something that will suit you
Air/Fuel gauge
1) tap it into the o2 wire that is going into your ecu.

i believe pin 60 from there

i did that too and wondered the same...but once you tighten it down more it crushes the ferrule onto the hose and everythings fine..youll see what i mean when you do it..but just be careful not to tighten it down too much...just enough so the hose is snug and not goin anywhere

AIR GAUGE

IF YOU LOOK UNDER THE HOOD NEAR YOUR TURBO THERES A PLUG WITH WIRES COMING OUT THOSE WIRES ARE COMING OUT OF YOUR EXHAUST FOLLOW THE WIRES BACK YOU'LL SEE A CONNECTOR UNPLUG THAT CONNECTOR AND PULL BACK ON THE BLACK COVER I CUT MINE WITH A RAZOR A SLICE DOWN THE MIDDLE DON'T CUT IT OFF NOW LOOK THE WIRES ARE A DIFFERENT COLOR USE THE PINK ONE AND SPLICE INTO IT AND RUN YOUR WIRE BACK TO THE GAUGE NOW WITH THE BLACK COVER TAPE IT BACK UP WITH THE WIRE YOU JUST INSTALLED SO THE HEAT WON'T HURT IT. HOPE THIS HELPS IF YOU NEED PICS LET ME KNOW

When I had my GT Mustang I put an air/fuel ratio and it was a pain in the ass to get under the car and find the right wire. It turned out that I spliced into the wrong wire and I had to get underneath the car and do it all over.

I am interested in getting those gauges as well, especially the boost gauge so please post on the difficulty of installation.

Good Luck :D

i think the caps lock key is on
really there is no need to go under your hood to do this, the wire that you spliced into goes into your cabin to your ecu

sorry, i didn't know getting to the ecu and finding the right pin was more difficult than running lots of uneeded wire across an engine bay and through the firewall.

alittle you have to rip up the carpet pull the metal plate unbolt the ECU find the right pin and run it under the carpet not to much fun I installed mine in 15 min. and you can't see the wire thet I installed

well your not messing with the ecu. your just splicing into a circut that goes to the ecu.

philly where is the PCM located passenger or drivers side. and does anyone have any pics? If you can tell me of the location I'll post some pics.
