Hello guys,
I have searched the forum, but can't find help on my specific "problem": I'd like to install a 2-way radio antenna on my 2006 Mazda3 S 5-door. I'd rather avoid the on-glass mount (too lossy and if the windshield is made of passivated glass it would not work at all) or lip mount on hatch (would look REALLY ugly).
The best (and cleanest) solution would be "just" to drill a hole right in the middle of the roof and put a NMO mount. I do not have a problem punching a hole in the roof of my car (been there, done that...). However, I'd rather do it with some Mazda3-specific guidelines on how to remove and reinstall the roof liner and how best route the antenna cable to the front of the car.
I found only this:

Anybody knows where can I find the document to which the last poster refers? I have tried to google it, nothing came up.
Also, would this kind of DIY invalidate the warranty?
Thanks in advance.
