Installed w/ Pics: HKS HyperExhaust, TEIN springs, and Rota SubZeros!

After a hectic friday of having the Exhaust dropped off on time, FedEx decided to lose my package containing my springs. I had a scheduled appointment at 10am for everything to get installed on Saturday morning.

After countless calls to FedEx up until 8pm, they told me to call back in the morning in hopes of the package coming up. I woke up the next morning after not being to sleep at 7am and headed upto FedEx in Springfield to pick up my package. I waited for them to retrieve my package for almost 30 minutes. Finally they located it and all was good.

Now for the pics and review:

Exhaust - Aboslutely wonderful. Has a deeeeeeeep deeeeeeep sound. Not farty, no droning, just a smooth exhaust note.

Suspension - TEIN makes some very nice quality stuff. Install was a breeze and took a lil more then 1 1/2 hours. The drop is perfect. In the rears i can get 1 finger between the wheel and fender, and the front almost 2 fingers. The ride is smooth as silk and handling is amazing.

Rota Subzeros - The wheels were purchased off of fellow member (whos name ill withhold). The price was $650 for 17" Rota Subzeros with 711 tires in great shape with the wheels containing some normal wear and tear knocks and scratches. That being said i purchased them. Low and behold, one of the wheels i curbed half way around the rim. Its bent, and the ride is ridiculous with them. I have since taken them off to get mounted and balanced when i recieve the extra wheel i had to purchase.

I have since contacted the seller in hopes of some type of reimbursement for the amount i had to shell out to simplyt make the set work. For that price, i would and should have simply purchased a brean new set of wheels and tires. BTW, the pics do not do the curbage justice. I have a feeling he may have curbed them after he sold me these wheels because when i pulled it out of the box, i could use my fingers to take off pieces of the rim where it had been curbed. The curbed arear were shiny and not dirty, and the wheels were not cleaned....they were dirty as well. Just dooesnt add up that he sells them as being normal wear and tear and i get the shaft and buy 3 good rims.

I guess this is just a hard lesson learned if he doesnt fess up to it.

how were they shipped and packed? the box wasn't damaged was it?

if the seller doesn't do SOMETHING to mend this situation, please let us know who it is. curb checks are not NORMAL wear to me!

buying ppl from things on this forum is risky, and we NEED to know if someone rips you off!

Im awaiting a reply from him now to see hows hes going to act. If he doesnt copperate im going to dedicate a thread to him just to let everyone know how i got bent over.

Jesus!! that looks like at least 3/4 of the rim is curbed! Hopefully all is solved peacefully, but I definately understand that a rim like that would make you change your mind about a sale...Good luck.

I hate you so much.... I have the TEIN, and I want the rota sub-zeros..... I want them soooo bad...... lucky you.... :D

is it easy to install springs with out a spring compressor of some sort. i have always not installed mine because that what i was told, was it the installer trying make more cash from me or something?

Looks Good! (and strangely familiar) :)

btw- you're ride looks great.

shawn- you do not NEED a spring compressor if you have someone to help. they need to be pretty heavy/strong so they can compress the spring while you unscrew the top of the strut.

for mine, i used the crappy rental compressor to tighten the stock springs and then my friend pushed the eibachs down while i screwed the strut back together. my friend is a pretty strong guy and it was alot of work to compress the eibachs.

if you don't mind spending forever on just seating the springs, just get a compressor.

Nice ride....I think there's shops that can fix curbed wheels...but not sure how much it would run, guess it'd be better just to have a new wheel..

Glad to see you liked the HKS Exhaust, your car is looking pretty sweet...get some tint on those windows-- Chris @ SPD Racing

looks sweet man. love the exhaust. does anyone know if the axle back HKS system will work on an MP3/MSP? I know it's for a Pro5 but I wanted to ask just incase it would fit.

Thanks for the good words everyone.

Im still waiting on a response from the person who sold me the rims. He claimed he never got my first email about me complaining about the shape of them.....who knows.

I feel like ive been bent over.
