The topic says it all, my car feels like its being held back by a rubber band tied to the rear bumper now that I installed my INJEN.

I reset the computer, let the car idle for 20 minutes after install, but it feels like the damn ECU didnt calibrate for the extra airflow, it is WAYYYYYY over compensating for it with fuel.

No power comes on till like 4k RPMS. when I hit OPEN loop.

WTF over, my ass is chapped big time on this. I hope it works itself out by friday, or its goin back to INJEN with a big **** YOU written in the box.

Anyone else having this issue?

Im probably not gonna have it long enough to get to the dyno, If I get what I want for a trade on my MSP Buh muthafuckinghesitation bye. and HELLO 4G63 :D

i don't know man. the Golf R32 is looking ****** cooler every time i see or hear about it. might say bye bye stumbling b**** to the General Lee

Hostp5, not being rude man, but I doubled and triple checked everything already. This is not my first intake install. :D Its more then jsut the Injen, its the whole stumble/hestiation/mazdas inability to fix/my reagonal directors inability to call me like I asked/Callaway not willing to send out its own damn ecu fix/ ect ect ect ect.

Im jsut tired of after 20 minutes of driving, it not being fun anymore.

nice how-to i must say. but why is that msp engine bay all blued-up?? is it orange black silver or yellow? i cant imagine blue engine bay lookin great on any of them- as always. CLEAN ASS P5 MANN

Sounds like to me the most important factor for you right now is lots of hp and going fast. If you want that I don't know why you got a MSP. This car wasn't designed to be a fast car in the straight, but to be a devil in the bends and curves. If you just want to go fast you should spend your money on a Mustang GT for the same amount of money and you can slap on a supercharger and be a hell lot faster than this MSP will get with this GTR25.

Don't wanna flame you, but I love my MSP. I know there's a stumble issue and a clunk issue, and alot of trouble, but hey it's part of the car, if you want a car that's 100% reliable get a toyota. I like this car, cuz it got room to improve. Like perf said, if you want a better fule/timing map, get a piggyback, that way down the line when you want an evil fuel/timing map the piggy is already in place, instead of getting 1 or get your ecu chipped.

I hope you stay with your MSP and work out your relationship. I'll be honest with you. Unless you trade me a 2002 RX7 from Japan, I don't think i'll trade my MSP for anything right now, not an evo nor a sti.

Im gonna be good here, it will be hard, but I will.

Dood, I know that the MSP was not designed for striaght line performance. I did my homework on several cars before I bought. The MSP had everything I was looking for in a car, with the room to grow and improve. If the hesitation issue was known before I purchased, trust me, I wouldve went with something else.

I AM THE MOST VOCAL ON THIS FORUM ABOUT GETTING THE HESITATION ISSUE FIXED ON THIS DAMN CAR. Please take the time to read through the MSP section of this forum, and you will see this. :D I have been in contact with CAllaway, Mazdaspeed, Sport Compact Car, SuperStreet, and a few others that shall remain nameless.

Dont assume one thing by a thread I post. I want a car that has no known issues, (the EVO VII) and has mad potential in any aspect of auto racing.

EDIT:By me bitching about my hesitation issue getting worse after I put on my Injen does not mean I care about straight line performance only, where did you get that s*** from.
Have a nice day. :D

True dat, Its just be nice to get more perfomance from a performance mod, not less. Especialy at the Injens price.
We feel ya Boost :D

Well, Ill be pulling mine out after work, if my heistation/stumble issue is not as bad, then my Injen will go up for sale. As with my MSP. I cant deal with this s*** anymore. Mazda can take the damn car and shove it up thier FORD RUN ass. :D

Bah, Im jsut frustarted right now, and sick of the excuses. Ill prolly keep the speed, but will keep my options (jdm term there) open. :D

No!!! Whatever you do, don't give up on the MSP yet Boost. You're our best hope at ever seeing a fix for the damn thing! That would almost be like Newf giving up on the clunk issue.

As far as the CAI goes.....just make sure you give it some miles before you give up on it. It shouldn't be causing worse performance right away, but still, give it some miles (100-200?) in hopes that the bad computer will eventually adjust properly.

Sorry if I offended you with my statement. I read your posts (this 1 and others before) and i'm well aware of your thread that suggest us MSP owners to raise up and let Mazda that we'll not take no for an answer. also, I'm well aware of your frustration with the stumbling issue and I'm very happy that you're working you're ass off to get this issue fix for all us MSP owners. All of us want a car that we can buy and have no worries about it. That's the dream of every car manufactor.

I just wish you would stick it out and find a solution that's all. And I'm a disgruntle at all the people on the board saying they race this car and so forth, but it's all in straightline. Rather than a true test of the car as a whole in both the striaght and the turns. this is where the good cars separates from the legends. For example, the autox results we have gotten from other MSP drivers have proven that this car in stock form is terrific.

This is my personal opinion on the evo VIII(strictly personal) Please don't quote or flame me on this as this is STRICTLY PERSONAL COMMENTS:

Now about the evo for example that u'r talking about. Well that engine in the evo is a turbo engine. designed from the drawing board to be a turbo engine. of course it's gonna love the turbo. you also know that it has a lousy compression ratio, so when off boost it's not very efficient. As for auto racing, don't know what kind of auto racing you're talking about. But assuming you're sayin that the evo has mad auto racing potential means only 2 kind of racing. Street racing (illegal) drag strip (legal) or rallying. As for other kinds of racing the awd system is a waste. It prevents slipage so you can't corner as hard as a rwd. This is especially true since US version is missing the ayc and acd. The awd system helps you corner, but it has a limit that it wont' let you corner at say then a car with rwd setup. No i'm not assuming that you dont know this and i'm not dissing evo for being a great car. got that?

u guys should wait untill i get my K&N Typhoon CAI.....
based on what i've seen, it kicks ass

K&N will give me the dyno charts the day they install it, so i'll post them here.

and trust me i will be critiquing the hell out of that thing...

dont give up on your speed man, just look at you AIM name :)
