3 things you need for your 10 mins mod:
1. knn or a filter open on the top
2. 2 long 6 inch screws same size as stock (not sure on size this is a crash course lol)
3. 2 nuts to filt the screws

injen cai ram air, i like cai cause you can un screw that little flap under the car where your filters at and now its ram air. ok how i did it is like this i got 2 long ass screws like 6 inches long the same size as the screws i took out, and got 2 nuts to go with them/ i put the screws through the holes at the bottom of that flap then screwed the nuts on the other side to hold the flap where i want it. (you can addjust it) then screwed the screws back in there holed now you have ram air! its verry easy to return the flap back into place this is only for race and a nice day if it rains your ****** oh i also changed that pos filter with a knn its awsome open on top for that ram air!!
the reason for the screws is because that flap will get pushed back by the air and will drag and scrape its frigen loud lol i know so i came up with this idea.
want input lol yea or nay???

Did this a while ago when I made my intake, just cut out the triangle-like section of plastic that sits right under the filter. There's 3 bolts and one pastic tab holding it in, so cut a straight line on it before it goes up to cover the fender. If you make that one cut and take off the bolts it comes right off. Nice fresh air for your filter. When it rains just bolt the cover back on.

TRUE that works to but how i made it the air hits the flap like this -> / and gets pushed right up in, if you cut it off you wont get alot of air.

Well, think about this though... If you have the 03.5 model, where the foglight would have been, is that little black grate. well, there's a small metal piece behind it, but the air still gets around it quite easily right to the filter... so if you have 03.5, you kinda already have a ram air CAI... this is the only reason im' not putting foglights on my car now... altho i was before... I've changed my mind :D(nana)

If you add a flap like that, it has to sit lower than the fender cover to actualy work and catch some of that air. That will cause some ground clearance issues which I wanted to avoid. Plus I think the 90 degree bend after the air filter on the cold air design kinda of negates any ram air effect of any cold air effect that this intake has. I'm going to convert to a short ram as soon as I can to see the difference for myself.

Dude you should do the fogs they look killer!

*similar issue* what do you guys think about a inner fender well trim (similar to the ones found on the audi TT on the intercooler side).
it is supposed to allow better flow for that car's intercooler, just wondering if you guys (and girls) think the concept would do the same on an air intake.
a lot of VW owners have been doing it for their intercooler so maybe it would be worth a try.

a link for what i am talking about:

Actually it's kind of the opposite, though you have to going highway speed for this to be true... Air will be pushed out of the way by the fender, which will create a vacuum behind the fender that air will rush into. It will be turbulent air but it will still be forced in there.

False. Behind the metal plate, there is sheetmetal. No air gets in that way.
